I retired, thank you Apple, to a beautiful resort area in New Hampshire's White Mountains. I'm contemplating hosting a get together to celebrate $1T... and beyond.
Would you be interested? How much advanced notice is needed? When would be a good time for you? Please PM me.
Fall is spectacular here. The foliage usually peaks the first or second week of October. It is also one of the peak tourist seasons as the 'leaf peepers' come out -- which makes restaurants and lodging tight.
The closest commercial airport is Portland, ME, about 1 1/2 hours. Boston is a bit over 2 1/2. If you're a pilot or have your own, the Freyburg, ME airport is 6 miles away.

Thanks as usual for kicking things off again, Since84!
Nothing new but just a reminder/note regarding ex-dividend day. Different websites report the change in stock price differently (at least in premarket). For example, CNBC adjusts yesterdays closing price for the dividend ($0.73), showing it at 208.15, yielding a -$0.75 change for today's premarket. Yahoo Finance doesn't adjust yesterday's closing price (208.88) and instead counts the reduction from the dividend in with the pre-market move. So Yahoo states we are at -$1.48. Either way, I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing green today and another ATH!

Given that AAPL is trading Ex Div, today's price action is reassuring. I'm still concerned that AAPL has risen pretty far pretty fast. RSI is over 73. That is a very high indicator. When I traded options that would have translated into Sell, Sell, Sell...

When I traded options that would have translated into Sell, Sell, Sell... since84: I agree RSI=70 is meaningful. My theory is that, if one needs to sell AAPL shares, the best time is usually just after it has fallen back down through RSI=70. Agreed that it can pop back above 70 immediately, but more often than not, it continues down. It can remain above 70 for weeks though, rising steadily during those times. I figure when it drops below 70 I lose a day's worth of gains but if I sell before it drops below 70, I can miss possibly weeks worth of gains. Usually I want to buy back about the time RSI touches or gets close to 30. I know, easier said than done. BWDIK? Just a "shit investor" here. Boy, have I been lucky, though!
