Recall, I’ve earlier posted about my tracking Apple Support (45 pages) and MacRumors forums (115 pages) regarding a) the wifi issue and b) weak LTE signal, drop outs, slow data; compared to their previous iPhones. I’ve had my BS filter engaged.
12.0.1 addressed the wifi issues for some users, not all. Another user clams 12.1.0 beta 4 has helped with the LTE performance (Verizon).
However, there seem to be multiple cases where a users’ replacement phone, sometimes after already having 2 “lemons”, performs great.
I’m guessing most issues will be fixed by software, modem firmware, and carrier settings updates. But, I think there is also some low number of users that may have a faulty iPhone (assembly or bad part), who’ve been relieved and happy with their replacement. Maybe we’ll see a service bulletin that certain build dates within a range of certain serial numbers, may be eligible for a replacement? PS: The developer beta of iOS 12.2 beta 5 is out. Developers are usually cautious to comment on forums. When the public beta is released there should be some feedback.
