There are times that it feels good to beat the market by more than a percent.
This wasn't one of them.

Stock market chaos is reflecting the complete US government chaos. Probably won't subside until we restore competence and confidence at the top.

Ha, yeah maybe it sounds too despiriting, but the good news is long term buy and holders should have some nice opportunities.

(I don't think I've ever paraphrased "Dumb and Dumber", but it seemed fitting. Plus we got out for our first ski of the season yesterday, and I'm off to go remove snow)

Stock market chaos is reflecting the complete US government chaos. Probably won't subside until we restore competence and confidence at the top. Market still up since election. Dems took congress, doesn’t bode well. Silent coup d'état in progress. Unemployment down jobs way up. Fed feeds on inflation and higher wages with rising interest rates. China still hasn’t given up yet. Leftist media feeding it with negative bs. And the usual fake news we experience with is continuous from leftist MSM and blogs in the political front. I visited the Occupy Democraps FB Page some time ago. What a vile angry place that is. I came away with the only thing I could describe the place other than that as where the ‘Children of the Corn’ hang out. Lol *edited for major typos * specifically my coup d tattoo error

PED has Expert: Apple’s modem could save it $40-50B. There can be no doubt that Apple taking silicon development in-house has been a key strategic move that may become even more important as Apple moves further into the wearables market.

Wow, someone is an angry little fella! Upset that Donny Donuts and his cabal are going to jail? The market hates uncertainty (remember) right now nothing is more uncertain than the Pres. Funny how there are currently 17 investigations going on, a bunch of people indicted and several in jail or about to be in jail but somehow it’s someone else’s fault. Rs control all 3 branches last I checked.
This isn’t going to get better for awhile IMO. The sharks are smelling blood.

Your fellow Crispin obviously took a political swipe that should not be tolerated. I merely explained to him that there are multiple reasons for recent volatility.

Personally I think you watch/read to much leftist propaganda. Your rebuttal is no different from what one sees over on the angry Occupy Democrats board. As President he has done nothing lawfully wrong and this drooling over impeachment has nothing to do with ty.

You’d, however, was blatenly political, and could have been found on any political forum; using all the Trumpian buzzwords. Pardon me if I prefer not to even see, let alone, drink the Kool-aid when I’m here.

There's no H in your IMHO if you don't think "complete US government chaos" wouldn't be interpreted by default as a thinly veiled political statement, as I assumed, rather than something having to do with "markets and the effect of uncertainly". But as in sports, it's usually the response to a foul that draws the foul. Ever noticed that? If you're asking for rhetorical subtlety when it comes to politics, you could've demonstrated it here but didn't. And it's not obnoxious at all to demonstrate moral preening about political expressions while declaring political judgments. Not at all.

Sorry everyone.
I realized after posting that even though I had not used "Dumb and Dumber" as the source of the quote for any particular reason (the jest of the quote fit, not the source film itself, or it's name), that someone could take it otherwise. Once realizing it would be easy to take out of context, I should have edited it or added a note.
There are several things likely holding back AAPL and the market at this time. US politics (in multiple ways) is one of them, but so are politics elsewhere (Brexit, China, and we haven't heard from N Korea in a few weeks), and their related economies. Then there's Qualcom. And then the biggest of them all, iPhone sales, and the larger black hole than normal around unit numbers.
There's a lot of uncertainty out there right now. That wall of worry is looking pretty big. I like to think that the market is too negative at the moment, and even if the various issues don't change, that the market should recover some. With a little catalyst of holidays, and the mindset reset it may help push when around friends and family.
We try to self regulate here. While politics is always going to play some part in AAPL and even Apple, let's try to go out of our way to keep it civil, and watch out for the things we may say without real intent that others may take differently.
For me it's a dry run for talking with the extended family, where there's always a few hot button issues you need to tread lightly around, even if you're goaded on.
Happy Holidays!!!
