Cult of Mac has Amazon could one-up Apple Music with new high-fidelity music tier. IMHO, the vast majority of people are insensitive to the playing quality of the music they listen to and don't have speaker systems, especially with portable devices, on which the difference would be apparent in any case. Very, very few folks will find it worth a higher price.

I have a good home theater system and I have converted my CD's to lossless AIFF files that I can stream via Airplay 2. Sounds way better than listening via the Apple Music App on Apple TV. I am planning a major upgrade to my home theater system thanks to Apple dividends and am planning on subscribing to Tidal. I am interested to see what Amazon offers. I would be very happy if Apple followed suit with their own high fidelity music

Fascinating piece by DED. I didn't know about that trip-lobed campus.
