Happy Mother's Day to those in the group who qualify, and to the mothers of those who don't.

Sorry, week late to the party (life is crazy for me, as regulars know). Point by point from the article:
1) theatre mode for iPhone. I use theatre mode on the watch often. One button mutes the device: haptic, audio, and screen will not do anything. You tap the screen or press a button to wake, then watch returns to sensory silence. Probably a few simple lines of code, would be a value add feature.
2) adaptive intelligent prompts. My use case finds the "good job!" notifications annoying at times, but I don't tend to turn them off either. My mother has iPhone 8 now and was elated to discover it was tracking her steps and such. She doesn't have a watch but might get some value from having the device interrupt her day with suggestions to keep moving. For me and many young people I suspect keeping the prompts on the watch is the best idea.
3) better glanceable atmospheric ephemera. As a former military officer and helicopter pilot, I check weather minutiae multiple times each day. Wind, sunrise/set, moonrise/set times and stages. I want more. But I wouldn't expect iPhone to include such things out of the box. I read the METARs and TAFs in the original TTY code on a dedicated app. Give me basics on the watch and I'll switch to my custom solutions from the App Store.
4) modular iOS lock screen. Yup, I want it. Apple has refused for over 10 years.
My additions: - I want nightstand mode to display in red, not just the default green. - I want to be able to play music and podcasts through the watch speaker, not just voice calls. - There should be a way to pull more detailed information directly from the phone to the watch - capability is limited to "past 24 hours" and "last 100 photos" and "the last few emails" but I'd want to be able to dig deeper if the devices were tethered. iPhone is in a bag and I want to pull up a number from an email from last year, for example. Watch should let me search it out and call it without taking off the backpack. - I hate pressing the digital crown for everything. If I open a complication from the main face it should have a "back" link in the upper left to just take me there. Sure this is a first world problem but I'm using a first world device so...
Apple Watch is indeed transformative. If Apple discontinued the line today I would be very sad. I imagine wearing one for at least 4 more decades.
