Up 2 weeks in a row! Are we starting to see a trend?
It seems a bit quiet on AAPL news, though WWDC started the week out.
To get the discussion going, how many people are considering upgrading their systems earlier in order to switch over to Apple's Mx series chips?
My dad is upgrading his old laptop to a Mac Mini, and I'm suggesting the M1 series one instead of an Intel based one. But, that's a needed upgrade instead of shortening the upgrade cycle.
Is the Mx chip from Apple changing your upgrade plans?
Have a great weekend

I have a 2019 MacBook Pro. I will definitely upgrade sooner due to the Mx. Waiting for a design upgrade and hopefully the next Mx variant. I am also hoping for more port variety.

We are on the other side of the coin; we held off on what was a desperate need to upgrade our iMac, being disappointed, although understanding the reason, that laptops were the initial upgrade. We have the top of Mx series on order, with a six weeks wait time, due around the end of the month.

Ordered the M1 iMac purple with 16GB memory and 1TB storage. Won’t be getting it until mid July.

Ordered MacBook Air M1 8/256 pretty early. Too early, one got bricked on an update, and/or migration assistant bug. I was so pleased with the performance I bought a few for immediate family members. The keyboard has been great. I moved from an 8/512 MacBook Pro and was concerned about only 8G, but it's been plenty (browsing w Edge and Safari, Excel, Outlook, a few other low resource apps).
Still, I will buy a MacBook Pro 14", if with brighter display (use outdoors) and if only a fraction quicker at rendering web pages (buried in layers by ad cruft). The MacBook Air M1 is so fast for my usage, I'm unlikely not be in a hurry.

Backed off ordering a M1 iMac after weeks of torture thinking over those tonka toy pastel colors and a trip to the store. I don’t think Steve would have approved imo. People are even putting skins on them lol. Silver looks so plain. I know I’m in a minority concerning color though. My early 09 iMac needs replaced but I’ll wait for next years rendition and a M1x plus.

I’m also not sold on white border for the screen, but there was no choice on that. For us, a speed increase was paramount, so the M1 was really the driving factor.
