Today’s PED column is given over to a review of Vision Pro by filmmaker Matti Haapoja. It is perhaps a bit over the top, but if a filmmaker is this impressed, it must truly be a special experience. At the other end of the spectrum, Apple Insider has Five boring apps that Apple shouldn't forget about for the Apple Vision Pro. It certainly seems like in store opportunities to directly access Vision Pro may be the only thing needed to make this a blockbuster product.

Several of Ken Fisher's books pointed this out, of the unexpected happening most. So if everyone is expecting a flat market, a slight downward move, or a big downward move, maybe an upward move is what happens. The microcosm of travel can give us an interesting look at spending. Travel is up, and one story noted flights costing 25% more, and hotels 10% more. Last year travel opened up and there were stories of lots of travel and higher prices. My guess is that all of those people are traveling again, plus more that were putting it off for various reasons. And it might even be at the capitulation level, of those that skipped last year due to higher prices just deciding to go for it, no matter what. While this might not give a good bead on exactly how things will do for Apple, I think it reminds us that there is still plenty of spending money in at least certain portions of consumers.

Not sure about hotcakes, but one thing for sure. This should shut people up about Apple not being capable of innovation. I can’t recall any product getting so many reviewers absolutely stunned by what a new device delivers. Sounds like magic, while making other devices seem like they are from another century. I am afraid that I might be convinced to actually get one. Very afraid. Depends a lot on available content.

Maybe “sell like donuts at a police convention “ may have been better. But ya get the point.

Weird day. Fed successful in tanking market. Of interest is gold and silver stocks half up and half down. RIO and BHP are up, these are fundamental metal producing companies-reasonable dividend producers if we are entering expansion they will go up. They are up if economies expand and need metals. PAAS a silver and some gold company rarely goes much lower than it is. Could be worth speculating on. Apple is fighting a battle with the Fed tanking the economy to fight inflation while speculators are bidding up stocks for the new tech frenzy. If the frenzy drives the tech economy even more that should be good. Probably a few applications even the defense ones we have speculated on will send the "goggles" economy, for lack of a better word, into another tech mania like the internet. Should be fun. Berkshire is doing great if any of you bought that when I suggested it know.

I was thinking the same thing. I actually pictured myself in an Apple Store handing them my Credit Card. You mean while wearing Vision Pro goggles? But seriously folks, you made me think that Apple will create a virtual Apple Store wherein you are talking to one of them geniuses, or to a sales guy, who's an actual guy, but you are talking to him in the virtual space, a virtual Apple Store. And you would "hand someone your credit card".
Let's say I have a problem with my iPhone. At some point (assuming they can't do it now), the Vision goggles will be able to capture it in my hand I can show the genius what it's doing wrong. Maybe they don't want that because they want you coming into the stores buying things, but you'll still see all those things anyway.
Imagine the collaborative uses of this for design, construction, repair, etc. Even show me how to assemble my new pellet grill.
From 1000 miles away: "Put on your Goggles dad and I'll show you how to do X, Y, and Z."

Imagine the collaborative uses of this for design, construction, repair, etc. Even show me how to assemble my new pellet grill. They should be able to do something stock like that now, thru a youtube video. It's interesting the places that do that, and the places that don't. Too many have taken Apple's "show things in just a couple steps" too far. And some do it in such generic terms. Like the 2 page KBB included with their shocks, where 2 pages of that was the required short warning blurb around 30 languages, and then the other picto-instructions tried to show every possible installation situation. The other side is giving way too much. Did Samsung really need to give our washer and dryer manuals in 3 languages? On some it seems like a newer issue, like a car user manual showing so much on new features that only some of their levels do, but dropping out 2 pages on changing the oil? And that sounds easy, but pointing out things on a different car could be helpful, especially if it goes a non-standard route like a cartridge filter system on a Rav4 that needs a special wrench, or a funky strange end cap on an f-150. But while it's annoying to have a huge portion of the book be on certain features that are not in every level of their car, I remember the old '86 caravan having the same thing, of a large percentage of the user manual being on the 4 (or whatever) different stereo systems that it might have. All that said, some companies are adapting to let you easily get info, or to be specific to your product. I think the new Sienna has videos about the car on the infotanment system. And with Ford, if getting online access to a Service Manual, it is specific to a VIN and the features included, so mine would have the 3.5 eco boost engine, and not the 3.3 or the V8. All that said, I like your idea and could see Apple giving the option for a virtual session with a Genius. It's that great fit, of showing a good use case for the product, encouraging use of the product by users, and even helping out those users by giving them an option. And ideally it also optimizes the "visit" on each end, fitting in more meetings for the Genius, while saving the user time, and potentially shrinking slowdowns due to not being in the normal use case when bringing something in to the store.

One more. It looks like I had this queued up from yesterday, a video with Dan Ives talking of his 1 year target of $220, and saying he could see $4T in 2025! And that sounds crazy at first blush, but it's 38% from today. Call it 2 years out, and that's 17% annualized. Add in 5% annualized share repurchases (making it harder, if you assume it doesn't directly mark-to-market affect the stock price), add in an extra 6 months for end of 2025 leeway, and I get 17.9% annualized (only 13.8% APR without share repurchase adjustments, over 2.5 years). Nice. As long as the ship keeps moving forward, it looks like a given. Anyways, here is the interview. Might as well watch the 5 minute video. Apple's stock high is the 'appetizer' before this quarter's main course: Dan Ives
