The 2 of these made me think about the need to expose many to the Vision Pro in the first couple years, once there is some cool content and use cases, but for a 30-60 minute period that might not be plausible at an Apple store. I have a feeling that there is space for a non-Apple vendor to come in and offer time on one, both for the fees, but also for a kickback on sales. Something between the open-air VR units in malls of the past (it's amazing to think of how long ago that was, around 1990, but we saw it in a mall shot of a movie (Adventures in Babysitting from 1987?)), and a stereo room setup from Circuit City, Good Guys, Fry's, etc. It would be all about location, looking for the high end high traffic area (even more so than an Apple store). And while the chiced up Palisades ski area stores could do part of the year, going year round would be much better. With my wife looking at things to do at Niagara Falls (sure, there are viewings and tours, but also boats, jet boats, helicopter rides, and zip lines. Plenty of ways to spend as much as you want, and beyond), there are places that could fit, though Hawaii's climate might be better. We'll see how things go. If it works well, part of it is a computer replacement. So like the bike dealer says, for a lot of people if they are looking at spending $5k on a nice new bike (sadly that is not close to the top price these days), why not spend about the same for an e-bike? So instead of spending $2-3k on your next Mac, spend a little more and also get the Vision Pro.

Does anyone know what our MaxPain may look like tomorrow? Looks like the 185s will be worthless if all goes as planned.

Demetri Portelli, if the future has arrived that means it is the present? Oops now it is the past. Very confusing these goggles. Can you ski in them?

This may be an up day of significance. My list of the 35 or so richest corps. shows all but 3 up. Nike, LRCX and MDT are the exceptions. Lrvx has been an under the radar growth stock, even so Apple has done better. This does not seem like a top as of yet. So Lets hope all the money on the sidelines says its time to get back in.

Good morning. We have a red pre-market this morning at -0.22% at this moment. Consolation? And fortunately for Apple's margins, the Vision Pro assembles itself with its own energy source, much like Transformers do, so Apple doesn't even need to pay anyone to make them or even pay for electricity, real estate, etc. 50% profit margins! Heck they can just turn into cars and drive themselves to customers, so no need for shipping costs. And we know Transformers don't pay taxes on themselves for just existing; that would be crazy.

You left out the whole R&D side, from initially coming up with the ideas, on out to specing it and sourcing it, and getting production and assembly ready for that final assembly point. I just found it funny that the $1590 number came out after a week and a half, whereas my son came home from school a few hours after the announcement and said the price was $3500, and there were $1500 of parts. Someone had this close guess nearly instantly, and put it in a quick video. $186! It doesn't seem like this is the time for a hard drive upwards, for AAPL and the market. But I won't be complaining if we blast through UBS's $190, pass my 3-6 month $200, and aim for Ives $220. If that happens in short order the Fed might perk up more, even if the market shouldn't be their primary focus. But strong market bullishness begets inflation, at least in some areas.

Tom’s Hardware discusses Vision Pro with 3 analystsBen Bajarin, Neil Cybart and Avi Greengart. Some money quotes: Bajarin (emphasis mine) Greengart calling BS on Apple/Cook not innovating before this. Cybart EDIT - I wonder how many shares of Apple we will need to sell to buy one of these at launch?

It's coming. FWIW, I talked with a bike rental/store owner on Wednesday while we marked a new trail to build. He said that while to this point there haven't been many deals on bikes, they are coming, and he expects them in the fall. The rental market is interesting, in bikes and skis. Often they get great prices going in (nice discount), rent them for the season, and then can sell them for somewhere around the price they paid. Like using the annual 25% discount on one Mac as an Apple employee, it works out fine as long as you keep the flow going. In their case new bikes disappeared for a couple years, but now they have a new stream into the mix. So they are busy trying to sell off their old used ones, some from 2019. Apparently they sold ZERO last fall. I just got a new bike, delivered today from bikesonline. It's a good setup, getting top picks from outdoorgearlab at the sub $3k range, though was supposed to be one for my son. Looks like I'll be upgrading and he'll ride my old one, and if he hits the grades next time then I'll move on up to carbon. Ahhh, kids. At least someone found his drone, and returned it. Life in a smaller town. There's lots of leading indicators out there. The Fed is signaling up, but things including inflation are working on dropping further. The market is a strange indicator since it is looking out 6+ months, whereas most indicators like inflation are backwards looking. We'll see how it goes, but I just don't really see the Fed upping rates by two more .25 increases this year, to make it .5 over the height seen in the Great Recession. That just don't add up.
