You accomplished a huge logjam.
80M iPhones, 42M iPads sold so far in 1H fiscal 13.
Tim has some words for WS.
Noting GM and growth pressures.

Transition talk! Channel inventory. A perfect storm of plusses that screw up the fiscal 2013 compare. iPad mini takes the fall for GM!

Tim doesn't like the price action in AAPL.
Still confident. Of course, if you didn't like Tim then, you won't like him now.
I'm fine with Tim, so I'm fine with the themes and platitudes that are quintessential Apple CEO, be it Steve or Tim.

Tim sounds quite calm actually. Doesn't sound "nervous" as he kinda did for fiscal Q1 CC.

Let us see if I am hearing correctly:
we have many new products coming out in the FALL and later in 2014.

Ah, the "it's good to be the king" phase of the prepared remarks.
Hate on Tim all you want...but you know what, $90B in the first half of fiscal 2013 tends to back that up.
$45B in returned capital over 3 years...expanded to $100B. Btw, more or less within the same time period. That's nothing? No, that's not nothing.
Btw, I LOVE AAPL buybacks.
AAPL debt. Einhorn must be doing cartwheels. As for Apple having to borrow (eh, all that foreign cash, no big deal) - THANKS, United States government. Regardless of which party's been in charge.

Mercel, geez! Lay off the...whatever! The MMmmmmMMM part was Shu Qi, not me. ;D I'm glad Tim mentioned the ecosystem -- this is NOT given enough weight by Wall Street. This needs to change.

Oppy setting us up for iPhone disapointment. Ouch. Increased channel inventory...
Smartphones is NOT a quarter to quarter game, so for NOW, will give Apple some leeway on their iPhone strategy. GREATER CHINA is the key, all other markets are almost "irrelevant". IMHO, that's where everyone should watch carefully.

Japan is definitely telling Samsung to suck it with the iPhones.

Btw, I LOVE AAPL buybacks. Me too. Do we have an updates share count for the quarter? Update: I have 946.48M shares using the numbers. So they bought back 500,000 on top of covering the RSUs.

This is almost best-case! I vastly prefer buybacks to dividends so I'm a fan of the greater emphasis on buybacks. No double taxation, better use of capital IMHO!

Mercel, well there's the whole South Korea-Japan dynamic too, right. For a transitional product, I'm pleased with iPad mini's strength so far. Apple needs a good follow-up by the fall, though.

Just a small piece of advice to TC ... lose the "we are thrilled" statement. Or at least use it sparingly. There are plenty of other adjectives you can use for variety. LOL.

Oh-HO! iPad mini - FIRST-time iPad buyers. Nice!
Far as channel inventory, iPad is back in supply/demand balance.

Agree completely...love it, also love the 15% dividend increase because it's not large enough to be a huge difference to Apple's cash, yet it will appeal greatly to dividend investors because it's strong dividend growth and the payout ratio will still be low.

Somewhere in Georgia, MB is smiling. REMEMBER PEOPLE - Apple can and may revise the program yet again in 12-24 months.
