I recently bought an older Mac Pro 2013 (Trash Can) on eBay. I've always like the cool design and wanted something that could run Boot Camp for a Windows 10 install. Its OS ceiling is Monterey. And then I came across software patcher that would allow the install of newer OS on older Mac's. Open Core Legacy Patcher. I haven't tried it yet, but I thought that it may be a solution to anyone with a Mac that has become dated and are considering throwing an otherwise perfectly good Mac away. Here are a couple of YouTube videos describing the install and how the software works. How to Install Ventura on Unsupported Macs EASY OCLP GUIDE!OpenCore & OCLP Explained (OpenCore Legacy Patcher)

The latest universal binary installer will run on Monterey and let you run virtual machines of most any operating system. Put me down as a very happy user of Fusion as well as their enterprise vSphere products.

Broadcom bought VmWare and is taking it to subscription. Broadcom to Acquire VMware for Approximately $61 Billion in Cash and StockI considered Parallels Desktop, which would work on Apple Silicon, but they are also subscription. And I really dislike paying over and over again for software that I'll only use occasionally. It's just not worth it to me. But I've already installed Windows on the Mac Pro with the Boot Camp that came with Monterey. But my wife has an older iMac that I may try the Open Core Legacy Patcher software on sometime later. Edit. I missed your link. I had heard that VMWare was going subscription. My bad. Edit #2. I may download a copy of the software and give it a try. Thank You.
