I agree with you, Dave. I don't think "hope" is a good investment strategy, either. But, as I look closely at the table below, I can either be put off by the fact AAPL is now lower that it was at the end of 2021...or I can say, Holy Sh#t!...look where AAPL was at the end of 2023! AAPL has dropped year-over-year percentage-wise since 2001(last column) in the past...look at 2002 compared to 2001, 2008 compared to 2007, 2015 compared to 2014 and 2018 compared to 2017. The year 2022 and the start of 2024 has been rocky for AAPL investors...but it's not the first time we've seen this happen. If things don't pick up after mid-year, I may start to be concerned...until then, I'll just be (im)patient. 😎

Thanks Dave. Curious to see if Siri gets an overdue brain transplant with this tech. Her and I are not on speaking terms.
Yesterday in CarPlay I asked her to search for a wine store I was going to. She responded with some kind of obscure calendar date in 2025, after asking where I wanted to go. I don’t understand how Apple has dropped the ball SO BADLY with Siri.

I dislike watching long videos to hear the point, but this one was worth it (and also put a good overview in the description). Basically, the research paper Apple put out recently shows their AI doing almost as well with a small database (sorry, wrong word) as GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 with much much (1000x or more) larger databases. And if you put in a larger database, it outperformed GPT in some things. One example he was giving was referring to "they" or "that one over there", that traditionally the computer has had a lot of trouble deciphering what was meant. Good things are happening. It's hard not to be impatient and want more details now, especially after the stock has slide a bit. Sometimes Apple comes out with something when there is little or no competition, so it just all is new and different. But having some competition out there isn't a bad thing, as it gives a target and goals, while also a good comparison. It is frustrating to wait, but things seem to be pointing in the right direction on the AI front in the mid term.
