Well ... at least he had a "6" in the announcement: 60 billion It's actually a trillion given the time period committed......pretty big...and inflation could make it bigger

Certainly encouraging to see AAPL power higher today. The 110 call wall for tomorrow is very real (although not huge)and if we can stay in the 111 range here, that will burn itself off. I'd also like to see volume get closer to 60 million shares...
The 10 day behind us and the 50 day beckons...

from VERIZON TODAY: seekingalpha.com/article/2840986-verizon-vz-q4-2014-results-earnings-call-transcript?part=singleJohn Hodulik - UBS Okay. Thanks. Good morning guys. As you look at the results of the Wireless quarter churn and the upgrade rate really for standout as having spiked. And obviously, there is couple of drivers, I think the competition and the number of iPhones you guys are renewing this quarter. So is there a way, Fran, to sort of delineate the two and as you look out to 2015, are these -- do you expect these numbers to remain elevated because of competition or should we expect them to both, trend back towards a more normalized level? Thanks. Fran Shammo - Chief Financial Officer Yeah, thanks John. So I think this is what we need to look at, as we said in the remarks and follow the words carefully is that we will pursue our base. We will pursue net adds and we will pursue upgrades that are financially beneficial to the company. So what that means is at a 1.14% churn rate, you should take that as we did not go to places where we do not financially want to go to save a customer. And there's going to be certain customers who leave us for price and we're just not going to compete with that because it doesn’t make financial sense for us to do that. As far as why upgrades were so high, I think you have to go back a little bit and reflect on what we did in the past. So if you look at 2013, we made a lot of policy changes around upgrades. It pushed the upgrade view back into ‘14. So in ‘14, we took probably more upgrades than we generally would have taken because of those policy changes. But as we came out of the third quarter, I said that we had about 3.2 million iPhones in our base that were coming out of contract. And that was the signal that we were going to aggressively go after those 3.2 million customers and we did. We are very satisfied with the quality of the upgrades. So if you look at it from that perspective in the remarks I made, look at it on a percentage basis. 78% of our upgrades are what we would call strategic quality upgrades and that means a 3G to 4G, or basic to 4G, or a high value type customer who delivers a lot of value to us and we appreciate their business and we want to keep them as a customer.

I feel like I'm in a Sprint commercial... you can here a pin drop in here it's so quiet.
We're actually on a pretty good pace to be back around ATH's by Tuesday. We may get a pre earnings pop yet.

I did my part and added about 500 more shares this week. Have a little bit of cash left that I might commit, also watching PAY, might dip my toe there. They're at an interesting point technically.
Whatever happens on earnings, they're going to add to the pile-o-cash in big way. Have to do something with that money... I remember several years ago talking about how big iTunes/apps were going to get. Amazing. Expecting great numbers except for iPads. What else is new.

What was it Bob Dylan used to sing: "Knock, Knock, knocking on the Fifty day door"?
Once, Twice, somebody open it up!

AMD earnings call transcript: seekingalpha.com/article/2835146-advanced-micro-devices-amd-ceo-lisa-su-on-q4-2014-results-earnings-call-transcript?all=true&find=appleIn the fourth quarter we made good progress diversifying our business into new markets, ramping PC and embedded design wins with key customers, and improving our overall balance sheet. This progress was offset by ongoing weakness in our PC business due to higher than optimal desktop and AIB inventory levels in the channel, and our over-concentration in consumer PCs. The computing and graphics segment revenue decreased 15% sequentially, largely driven by weak channel sales. We took some key actions in the fourth quarter to reposition our product stack and reduce downstream desktop and AIB channel inventory. While these corrective actions are resulting in short-term pressure in the business, they're integral to building a stronger and more profitable business going forward. We did have some success in the quarter continuing to reshape our OEM business. We drove a richer mix of higher-end products, expanded our presence in the commercial market, and increased adoption of our discrete graphic solutions. Mobile APU unit shipments, ASPs, and revenue all increased sequentially as our higher-end A8 and A10 APU shipments increased. We also achieved strong double-digit percentage revenue growth for notebook GPUs in the quarter as strategic wins like Apple's iMac with retina 5K display began to ramp.

I'm a little worried about the strong dollar being a drag on earnings this quarter.
