Good morning everyone.
AAPL is GREEN this morning rising to 113.70 +0.72 (0.64%) at 6:26AM. In contrast the major indices are all RED. The markets are said to be 'jittery' after the Greek election. The NYC weather will probably have a more profound affect than the Greek election, but what do I know? For those who aren't aware a major winter storm, they're using the "B" word, is planned for New York and much of the East Coast today and tomorrow. So far things aren't happening as advertised -- we were supposed to wake up to 'Blizzard like' conditions this morning, though morning hasn't broken and Dark Sky just notified me that snow is starting now. We shall see what the day brings.
In the news... suddenly lots of positive Apple articles. Interesting timing, don't you think?
First, everyone is falling all over themselves to say Apple is going to blow out earnings. Here are stories from The WSJ [$], Forbes, hell AAPL has even been declared Zack's 'Bull of the Day'. Anyone want to place bets on what these folks will say about Apple's guidance, or am I being too cynical?
Then we have Bloomberg TV reporting that FT says China Beat U.S. in iPhone Sales. WOW if true.
Then the WSJ has Inroads Made by Apple Pay Propel ‘Mobile Wallet’ Idea. Guess they forgot they recently published an article pooh poohing the Pay sales -- since they're only 1%...
In the midst of the euphoria there are a couple of interesting articles.
Cult of Android details How Apple ruined Google’s plan for a fingerprint scanner in the Nexus 6. Perhaps the non-litigious side of thermonuclear?
MacRumors notes that Apple Launches 'Free on iTunes' Section With Free TV and Music Downloads.
All in all we're setting up to be an interesting day. Personally, it would be more interesting if this were happening in the context of All Time Highs, but I'll take green any day.
Have a great day. Let's make money.
Those of you in the Blizzard of '15 stay safe.
