Good morning everyone.
Friday the 13th and AAPL is GREEN. Must be an omen. AAPL is trading at 124.80 +0.35 (0.28%) as of 6:24 while the major indices are mixed.
In the news:
Nada. Nothing. Not even a rational debate on Global Warming.
Let's hope Phoebes conductor friend punches the ticket at $125 and gets this train a rollin'. High Ball.
Have a great day. Let's make money.

A detailed look at the manufacturing processes for the aluminium, stainless steel and gold Apple Watches. "I see these videos and I see a process that could only have been created by a team looking to execute on a level far beyond what was necessary or what will be noticed. This isn't a supply chain, it is a ritual Apple is performing to bring themselves up to the standards necessary to compete against companies with centuries of experience." atomicdelights.com/blog/a-glimpse-at-how-the-apple-watch-is-made

$125.66 would be the number to get through. Mr. Conductor will really sound the whistle it seems. It's Friday the 13th and all good magical things happen on the 13th so fingers crossed

The FUDsters are finally waking up, TechBuzz has a headline Apple Sinks to Selling a $10K 'Douchebag Detector'. No link. LOL.

This is a great article by a metallurgist. Lengthy description of the care puts into making its products. Engineering marvels and commitments to quality above and beyond what any others can or will do....designed to delight.

As all of you know GTC orders are Good Till Canceled orders. On the trading desk we often had clients who would tell us that they would buy or sell a position in a stock when that stock reached "x" level. Once it reached the level they would very often change their minds. Hence, no one ever took these indications seriously when clients offered up a limit where they would enter or exit. We would actually call them "GTC: Good Till CLOSE" orders because after they got too close they would simply be non-existent. It's seems that's the way today with AAPL - we were so close to breaking out but the pistons are stalling .... need some greasing .... a little more power ...perhaps "beginning of the week" type power and not Friday option expiration type "stuff". Let's see what the rest of the afternoon brings but doesn't mean we can't get there next week if we don't this afternoon. Keep the faith!

I BTFD.
Open interest suggests a close above $123 but that's about it. Not sure why it's weak today. Hey, it's Vegas, baby...

Latest from some fundamentalists, going below $119 portends $105 else go to $127-$130s.

Nonetheless, I still think OPEX keeps AAPL over $123. Apple SHOULD be a flight to safety, but most people in the market have no clue about valuation and that's unlikely to change anytime soon.

Should be? Margin calls mean need to sell the most liquid stocks to meet it. Ask sponge. Btw, some voodoo indicator, OBV, has been bullishly divergence with price for a few weeks, if it is reliable, smart monies are accumulating.

Intraday, a clear downtrend established from $125.40 till $122.58, breakout from the downtrend and is resisted at $123.26 (23.6% retracement), now retesting the validity of the breakout, first try held and rebound...

Counted five challenges of $123.26, now (12:42 pm PST) is the six times...
Edit: Seventh challenge succeed, YAY!
Happy too early, got stop at $123.67, 38.2% retracement... hope no silly willy sideways come Monday.
For any possibility of rallying to $127-$130, need to go above $124.33 on Monday.

EW guys like to run all their charts and study them over the weekend but the latest was exactly what I said yesterday. Today was a bit murky but it did hold and successfully challenge the $123.26 area several times. They want to see a close above the $124 level - I will get better numbers over the weekend. Mace I seem to be saying exactly what you're saying. The thing that always seems to throw a wrench in everything seems to be Fridays so to be fair...I'd like to see how it behaves on Monday but if I had to make a choice on which way (for the most part) they seem to be leaning - I am interpreting it as more positive. Let's see what the weekend threads bring.

Is there a general disinterest in AAPL? Have been noticing not much posting in here, AFB and many other forums e.g. Yahoo!, Insanity, etc. Fatigue? Not many new retail traders?

What I know is I BTFD and sold it at the close for an annualized return of 114%.

Is there a general disinterest in AAPL? Have been noticing not much posting in here, AFB and many other forums e.g. Yahoo!, Insanity, etc. Fatigue? Not many new retail traders? I personally try to ignore the day-to-day gyrations because on my timeframe they are generally meaningless, though I do still check the AAPL news and price every day. Holding only Jan 16s and Jan 17s now. I've said this before, but my WAG on price is still that we will see sideways action in the 120s for the next 2-4 months, until it's clear that Apple Watch is a big hit. It may take until July when the first quarter of sales are apparent (and yes, I realize they won't be breaking out Watch sales numbers). Between now and then there will be numerous FUD stories about how it's not selling, no one wants it, it's not upgradeable, it's too expensive. Those stories will be debunked by the appearance of long lines and sellouts, but after people get the Watch in their hands there will be some new controversy that can tank the stock for up to a month (think Bendgate, Scratchgate, Antennagate). However, assuming the broader market holds up through the fall, I picture a second-half of the year rally that will take AAPL to new ATHs. Source: wild ass gut feeling and guesswork based on trading AAPL since 2000.

I've been seeing this unfold for at least the last two or three years. I'm guessing that it has a lot to do with the fear of an Apple decline being replaced by a conviction that it's long term viability is no longer an issue. I'll admit to being a little stunned at times by how immune to attack it's been while disrupting player after player in multiple industries. Unbelievable really.
