Good morning everyone. AAPL is RED in premarket, trading at 124.20 -0.75 (0.60%) as of 6:29. European markets are mixed. Guess Wall Street doesn't like TV... In the news: Apple to launch online TV service with support from major providers this fall. Stories at AppleInsider, Reuters, Investors Business Daily, WSJ [$] and others. Amazing how 'real' news crowds out the FUD. OK, maybe I got to optimistic not seeing a BI headline this morning. Biggest hacking threat to business? Wearables according to CNBC. No link. Perhaps they can hide their Watches behind some Surfaces. Sorry I don't have a nifty recycling graphic to add. Have a great day. Let's make money.

Regarding Apple's forecast TV service: it is my understanding that a subscription could replace the cable at both my homes, and allow me to see shows on an iPad (but not on a MacBook) when I'm on the road and have WiFi. Is this right? Does this reflect the epiphany that Jobs had near the end of his life?
It looks like there is going to be a lot of competition with similar services soon, which will probably be followed by consolidation. It looks to me as if this surge was all waiting for the decision on net neutrality.

The Apple TV news is giving us a lift here this morning. Techies are saying stock is pretty much basing here for a bit but still see it in a positive trend - until it invalidates it. This news this morning could get us moving. Folks still a little trigger shy till Fed meeting tomorrow. Isaacson - the God of everything supposedly these days (geez!) saying that SJ never said he was going to do a set top box it was all about the services and not a TV - I guess he feels he could go public on that now. (Said it on CNBC interview this morning). And that's all she wrote...

12 days under 10ma now challenging the down trend line. Base here and higher would be excellent.
ABCD from 105 double bottom to 134 ATH takes our measured move to 146...at the 2.24 fib extension.

Charter Cable refuses to allow apps like HBO Go and CNBC to work thru Apple TV (workaround is to use AirPlay) - can't wait to drop them -

Walter Piecyk was on CNBC talking Cable ( not a CNBC link). Of all the industries Apple has or may ever disrupt, none would warm my heart (in a schadenfreude way) more than the creative destruction of cable. And BTW, Apple launching a TV content service and Apple making a TV are not mutually exclusive. I'd suggest that the latter is actually dependent on the former. So Apple can sell $17,000 watches, but TV margins are too small?

The conjecture in this link about Apple in space spawned what I think was a humorous comment. geoduck 1:18 PM EDT, Mar. 17th, 2015 “Siri, Open the pod bay doors.” “Would you like to search the web for ‘pod bay doors’?” “Siri, OPEN the pod bay doors.” “I’ve found one listing for Pirate Bay Doors.” “Siri, Open the Pod Bay Doors.” “I’m afraid I don’t understand your question. “

Good to see Apple honcho lining up behind the new biography "Becoming Steve Jobs," effectively flushing Walter's down the toilet. Now can someone send CNBC the memo that Wally Isaacson ain't no analyst and that he has no business pontificating about Apple, Inc.
Eddy Cue: "Best portrayal is about to be released - Becoming Steve Jobs (book). Well done and first to get it right"
I pre-ordered in on iTunes. The heavens have voted: The book has 5 stars and will be released next week (March 24).

Yes, excellent movie. Side note, my oldest daughter went to Berry College where some of the scenes were filmed. Outstanding school by the way.

Does anyone here trade options on the volatility index tied to Apple? This seems to be a very predictable index given that it always rises before earnings and other predictable announcements like WWDC. How do you play this when everyone knows when it will rise and fall. Also, Is there a strategy that combines options on the volatility index with regular options?

Campus 2 isn't built yet, so you can't count that as office space.

Campus 2 isn't built yet, so you can't count that as office space. Just for info, the three buildings between Campus 2 and MainStreet are owned by Apple.
