“We are excited to welcome customers tomorrow and introduce them to Apple Watch, our most personal device yet. Based on the tremendous interest from people visiting our stores, as well as the number of customers who have gone to the Apple Online Store to mark their favorite Apple Watch ahead of availability, we expect that strong customer demand will exceed our supply at launch,” said Angela Ahrendts, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail and Online Stores. “ To provide the best experience and selection to as many customers as we can, we will be taking orders for Apple Watch exclusively online during the initial launch period.”www.apple.com/pr/library/2015/04/09Apple-Watch-In-Store-Preview-Online-Pre-Order-Begin-Friday.html

O.k.....who is going to buy the watch within the next two weeks? I will be buying one (steel) and maybe one other. I expect more family sales in the months ahead. Rez is in for two. Mercel for one. Others? One Apple Watch for sure and possibly another or sport for the iwife.

This is all very true. iPhone 6S and iPad Air 3 will have Taptic Engine and Force Touch. Imagine squeezing your iPhone, and it checks your face, and unlocks. No more home button required. TouchID under or near the camera bezel, and the screen is the entire device. I'm also getting the vibe that Apple Watch is going to drive a passion for home integration. Today I was wishing my dryer would just tell me when it was done. I had a vibration sensor that would email when the dryer stopped running in the basement. Great if I'm near a push email device. Better would be an internet of things, where I'd just say to Siri "tell me when the dryer stops". Siri knows I'm in the house, what the dryer is, and that "stops" means "vibration API returns zero for > 120 seconds." Then my watch buzzes. "Siri, tell me when the mail comes" - Siri knows the mailbox door position and one open/shut cycle means "mail call!" Window, door, battery level, plant hydration, pet food bowl - they can all join the fun. Why not?

Nialy Patel of The Verge tries really hard to tell CNBC that the Watch isn't needed. The surprise here is that the CNBC crew changes the conversation to talk about how much they want the watch and how much of a game changer it is.

Apple Store is down.
The naysayers predicting a "meh" reception to Watch will be sorely disappointed.

Among the things I don't need: Newspapers, narrative journalism, Wall Street Analysts, disc jockeys, and cable TV. I'm cutting the cord this week. Not sure if I want the Watch yet. I want to see how it looks on my wrist. I do believe that WSJ guy was right that they need to slim it down a bit, which of course they will. I'm predicting it sells like hotcakes, especially to the under 18 crowd. Nice to see a green day, eh?

Shipping dates listed for you? I'd be interested to see when the ship date gets pushed by orders that are "off the charts." Easier than getting tickets to WWDC, but still...

Just bought 2. Ship date on Sport is 4/24-5/8. On Leather its 5/13. Both orders complete via Apple Pay in under 2 minutes.
Stock crash tomorrow due to overly smooth checkout experience?

Does anyone else see the Aople Watch as a big catalyst to wireless headphone sales? I've never considered purchasing any until today. What good is having music available on Aoole Watch if you can't listen to it while running, riding the train etc? At $200 a pop, Beats could pay for itself pretty quick.

Scheduled a try-on session at my "local" Apple Store on Saturday. The process kept timing out and server not available, etc. Now I show two appointments under my profile for the same time. I'll let the system settle down and cancel one.
