While this is an Apple centric board and hardly unbiased, it is worth noting the number of people buying the Watch. I don't remember a product release with this much buying activity. When was the last time anyone on the Board tried to order 6 of a newly released producy? Bodes well for a smashing success.

Corrected: I don't even know what I would do if AAPL went up 10-12 percent on earnings losses. But ... but ... the losses were smaller than last year. :/

A shipping notification for my watch popped up on my phone yesterday afternoon! Delivery was surprising scheduled for today (originally April 24th-May 8th), but I'm out of town. Had to go on to the UPS website and reroute it to a UPS store, so that I can pick it up Monday.
BTW. Stainless with black sport band.

Just a quick plug. As you start using your new hardware, swing to our Apple Watch - Reviews thread so your experience is captured for the rest of the 'Board. (Edit: UPS just dropped off package for Mrs. Rez. ) Attachments:

I sold shares in the premarket, since the $130 call wall is tall. Just bought it back. Now I have beer and gas money for the weekend. AAPL isn't likely to close above $130, but a rising balloon (AMZN) appears to be lifting other stocks

If anyone doubts the stupidity of the stock market, Amazon is Exhibit A, B and C. Can you imagine Apple giving a report like that to WS, with Tim explaining on the conference call he's building a bigger Apple for the future? The music will stop at some point and instead of 1 fewer chair, there won't be any left to sit on.

Well, so much for avoiding lines on Launch Day. Have to believe that boutiques like Colette in Paris have never seen anything like this. Yep, this product has FAIL written all over it. On another topic...it appears that some version of the Android bot pissing on an apple has been around since at least 2011. How could I have missed it, other than the fact it is unbelievably juvenile?

I went through the teardown link that was posted earlier. It is pretty clear that this product has not been designed for an upgrade path once Gen II hits. There is no module that is easily replaceable. Does not mean for sure that Apple won't do it, but such an upgrade would appear to be way beyond the expertise you could expect to find at the Apple store. I think Gen I's go obsolete when Gen II hits, possibly with the exception of the bands. Maybe a factory upgrade for Gold models? Otherwise it seems uneconomical.

An excellent article, like most of what appears in the NewYorker. If I were an Amazon investor, I would be having serious concerns about now. In my mind, Amazon is following the business models of the railroads in the late 1800's. Once you control the ability to get goods to market, you can gouge the customers because they have no other choice, and you can make shipping expense so onerous to the sellers that eventually you can take over their business. I think investors in Amazon are not just aware of this strategy, but are counting on it. Why else would you allow 20 years of losses? The connection between Comcast and Amazon is that there is still an anti-trust component to the government. Stopping the Time-Warner deal should make an Amazon investor think twice about whether the government will allow this kind of monopoly, essential to Amazons success, to exist. I am delighted that the regulators found a spine. I do not think it is too early to start investigating Amazon.

Easy for him, he GOT his Watch. fortune.com/author/philip-elmer-dewitt/

Just got my 42mm Sport.....UPS driver said it was his first Apple Watch delivery. I guess I was the only one who liked the blue band. I'll write a quick review this weekend when I get a chance to play.

I'll write a quick review this weekend when I get a chance to play. I too liked the blue, and chose it over black, so you are not alone. I also have the Milanese coming. Both of these felt great on the wrist. EDIT - oops. See that you are talking about the sport band. I have the Blue leather coming.
