On the watch picture is the 96 in the upper right the heart rate monitor? Pretty sure it is % complete on Wall Street and CNBC rants for the day. Looks like he is ahead of schedule.

The watch will sell like hot cakes in China. I've been using it for 1 week and it's changing behavior. Can only imagine what it will do in China. My wife is wearing the Watch Stainless Steel with a Milanese Loop band... it looks way more elegant than the photo on website... she loves it a lot... battery at the end of the day is about 30-40%... charge every night. Well, still waiting for the Space Gray Watch, estimate delivery is still June. The difference live vs photo is indeed odd for this product. I find that they look way better in person than in any photograph. Especially true for the Milanese loop. Saw a guy in a bar with the stainless plus black buckle this week, and it too looked better live than in any photo.

A snap of my wrist, all dressed up and lots of places to go! So, Mercel, is it fair to conclude that you are a lefty? I'd be interested in how you decided to wear it on the "wrong" wrist and how the ergonomics of the crown and the button work for you in that position.

I wish I had been a little quicker with my watch order. I will be in Vegas next week and I probably could have sold a few of them for Apple but I guess I will have to wait patiently like Phoebear.

Sammy the walrus email on Apple Car play: If you are an automaker, you are prepared for the eventual press questions about upcoming competition from Silicon Valley. You have had a few months to prepare your answer and not go down the route of Dieter Zetsche, head of Daimler, who basically mocked the Apple Car rumor. Ford CEO Mark Fields, who last month told Business Insider that he really didn't know much about Apple's plans with cars, took an interview with Re/code to talk about how Ford will navigate the era of integration with iOS and Android. It really does sound like Ford would have nothing to do with Apple and Google if it had its choice. Instead, they need to bring iOS and Android into the car in some way given how those platforms are becoming ingrained in people's lives. Fields and Ford CTO, Raj Nair, make it clear though that Ford's primary navigation comes before CarPlay and Android auto. Here's Ford's CTO: " We want to make sure you are not pushed into a decision on a $40,000 car based on your $200 smartphone." While sounding incredibly short-sighted, it sums up Ford's upcoming problem: consumer's wants/needs from an automobile are going to change because of how technology and mobile are shaping the world. It will be more important and valuable to be a technology/software company first, not an automaker. - recode.net/2015/04/30/ford-ceo-we-wont-take-a-back-seat-to-google-and-apple/

So the 125 calls and puts switched, the calls now being higher, 128,329-121,168. But a mere 7K calls are going to make a difference? My understanding is that option sellers (call and put) will gain with close @ $125 and have more power on AAPL price than buyers. I really hope that for once it won't work this way ! Puts offset calls. $125 puts expire worthless at a 125.00 close. $125 calls expire worthless at a $124.99 or below close. Obviously I am simplifying it here. Pain would suggest a close below 125, although we never know how options close up during market hours on a Friday. And close above 125 is a bullish one, IMO.

I could flip the crown to appear on the lower left side, but I think I prefer the current orientation. I'm not even sure why people wear watches on the opposite wrist.

So if the Watch costs less than $90 to make, what's with all the bad margin talk we heard? How can it have "lower margins than the average Apple product" (per CC).
My wife absolutely loves her SS with Milanese band. She's getting up and exercising during the day thanks to the prompts. AND she's not missing my all important calls and texts like before cause the iPhone was in her purse. (Everyone should buy their female mate a watch for that reason alone) Apple Pay worked seamlessly of course.
I sold mine for a nice profit and ordered one with a band I liked better after a try on session. I can wait. Mace, very funny comment on Mercel's pic. As a lefty wearing it on your right hand, don't you have reach across the face to use the Crown? As a sometime lefty, I usually wear a watch on my right also but will switch to my left with the Apple watch because of wearing it while golfing and feeling like I can control the crown better.
Glad to see some green. Will make for an enjoyable weekend, cheers to the longs!

There is something wrong with the picture. The hand is so ... u...g... l... y Ahhhh, the beauty (watch) and the beast (wrist). The photo is too big, deceptively showing blur in the display. Trust me, it's plenty sharp. I do need to turn off the notification to get up and walk -- sheesh, I walk 3 miles daily on average.

Bullish close today.

Now that was kind of surprising ... considering all the prognostications the last few days about option OI controlling everything for Friday closes and the whole 125 thing.

I saw $127- $128 on Tues-Wed. Yesterday was weird. Here's another pic -- I had to switch the bands, but that's a cinch. Looks a bit strange but easier to navigate the crown.

The problem for most analysts seems to come from a confusion between the meaning of the first and second derivative. When they think the second derivative is going to a zero they forget that it can go to zero with any rate of change, thus we see a constant 20% growth rate being treated like a zero growth rate. This is exactly what happened in the fall from 700 to 400. I don't quite get this. Apple actually did have their earnings sink during the downturn. The high was 9-'12, right after an iPhone announcement, and then just before '12 Q4 earnings where EPS growth was 24.2%. But then their outlook, which truthfully was often very low, was $52B revenue and 11.75 EPS. Actual '13 Q1 earnings were 54.5B revenue and $13.81 EPS, down 1% YOY. The next 3 quarters earnings were down 18% YOY, 20% YOY, and 5% YOY (all according to my quarter notes, but it looks right). The double bottom just below $400 was 3-'13 and 6-'13, just before that last -5% YOY was reported. -5% is a lot better than -20%, and the overly low bottom was in. While I don't love analysts, and it seems they are often trailing too far or not bullish enough (at least as far as AAPL over the past 17 years, where Apple has overall grown tremendously), I really can't fault them for downgrading when Apple was actually having decreasing earnings. And personally I'd rather they were a little conservative, which I think they normally aim to be but got caught up not being cautious enough heading into the fall. Likewise, while their earnings estimates seem plausible, I think some of their 12 month stock price goals are quite an overshoot. I know if I was paying for an analysts opinion, in one way or another, I'd want them to be a little more cautious. I'd much rather they expected a price of $140 and instead it hit $145, than they expected $150 and it only got to $145. They same thing on earnings, which IMO makes PED's complaint of paid analysts being too conservative, by 3-6%, a little crazy to me. Good to see a climb today, even if I didn't make a big move in. But I'm glad I bought a little something yesterday. BTW, today's volume basically matches the OI on May 1st 125 calls, and also matched the OI on May 1st 125 puts 30 minutes or so before closing (though now is 28k more). If it was all placed as a synthetic stock, I wonder how much someone pocketed?

I really can't fault them for downgrading when Apple was actually having decreasing earnings. Not only do I not fault them, but I also thank them ... after all, if the stock never goes down (to enable us to buy cheap LEAPs), we would yield much less on this stock than we are able to with some volatility every now and then.
