Sounds like an Apple supplier prefers to do far worse than break-in by having its contract canceled. I'm not buying this FUD piece in any event. The daily B.S. that follows this company could fill all the poop trucks in Dubai. Much of the same FUD is in this article entitled, " Glimmers Emerge on Apple Watch Sales, and They’re Not Pretty" by Daisuke Wakabayashi Just as an exercise, see if anyone can find the sentence in this article which should have indicated to Mark Li, Buster Hein and Daisuke Wakabayashi that there's no story here. Well, I guess Daisuke Wakabayashi realized it because he decided to put it at the end of his article. Major Hint: It's the sentence that I've bolded. ========================Apple has said very little about sales of its Apple Watch, but a few tidbits are beginning to emerge from suppliers. The latest nugget may have come from Taiwan’s Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Inc.2311.TW +2.19%, a company that crams the watch’s many chips and sensors into a compact case through a process called system-in-package, or SiP. Mark Li, an analyst at Bernstein Research, said an ASE subsidiary told investors on a conference call that it didn’t reach its “break-even volume” of two million units per month in the second quarter. The ASE unit also said it didn’t expect to reach that level during the third quarter – a busy production period before the holiday sales season – and wouldn’t commit to reaching it during the fourth quarter either, according to Mr. Li. “The shortfall of Apple Watch is a disappointment,” Mr. Li wrote in a note to clients. “We came in with a low expectation but below break-even still surprised us.” In an interview, Mr. Li said it is unusual for a company like ASE not to reach break-even volume during a typically busy period like the third quarter, especially when dealing with a new product. He said that he now expects ASE to fall short of his forecast of shipping 18 million units this year, peaking in June. An ASE spokeswoman did not respond to an email seeking comment. An Apple spokeswoman declined to comment on supplier matters. ASE’s numbers suggest that the watch is not selling nearly as well as some analysts expected. In May, Morgan Stanley MS -1.17% analyst Katy Huberty had forecast Apple would ship 36 million Apple Watches in the first year of its availability. PiperJaffray analyst Gene Munster recently lowered his estimate of watch sales for the second quarter, to 2.5 million, from three million. He is projecting sales of 2.5 million in the current quarter, through September. Chinese research firm Talking Data said 809,000 Apple Watch units had been activated in China in the 12 weeks to July 19. Apple started shipping watches to customers on April 24. It says that Chinese messaging service WeChat 0700.HK +0.49% is the most popular Apple Watch app, appearing on 70% of Apple Watches. Apple has said the Watch sold better than its own forecast, but it hasn’t said how many sold or what it had projected. It has pushed back against the idea that its first all-new hardware first product in five years is not selling well. In particular, Apple has warned against reading too much into supplier comments, because no one vendor has a full picture of its complicated supply chain.

He was just pissed he didn't get the Apple TV story his former colleague got It sounds petty but petty is in the new WJS's wheelhouse. Wait until Apple releases the Watch internationally and other retailers (e.g. Best Buy, etc.). Even Watch-skeptic Ben Lovejoy finally conceded to liking the Watch. This ramp reminds me of iPod, a product many didn't think they wanted.

Reposted from yesterday's thread Expectations were pumped up beyond belief. 20 - 25 million in one year is astounding. I personally felt that 10 - 12 million in the first year would be great. One of its main features Apple Pay only works with a subset of all iPhones. 20 - 25 million sold represents ... what ... the Apple Watch outselling all other smart watches ever sold from all manufacturers by a factor of 10. Wall Street knows this,, they just spew FUD.

On July 24, 2015, Apple Inc. (“Apple”) entered into an underwriting agreement (the “Underwriting Agreement”) with Goldman, Sachs & Co., Merrill Lynch International and HSBC Bank plc, as representatives of the several underwriters named therein, for the issuance and sale by Apple of £750,000,000 aggregate principal amount of Apple’s 3.05% Notes due 2029 (the “2029 Notes”), and £500,000,000 aggregate principal amount of the Company’s 3.60% Notes due 2042 (the “2042 Notes,” and, together with the 2029 Notes, the “Notes”). The Notes are being issued pursuant to an indenture, dated as of April 29, 2013 (the “Indenture”), between Apple and The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company, N.A., as trustee, together with the officer’s certificate dated as of July 31, 2015 issued pursuant thereto establishing the terms of each series of the Notes (the “Officer’s Certificate”). The Notes are being issued pursuant to Apple’s Registration Statement on Form S-3 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 29, 2013 (Reg. No. 333-188191) (the “Registration Statement”). Interest on the Notes will be payable semi-annually on January 31 and July 31 of each year, beginning on January 31, 2016 and on the applicable maturity date for each series of Notes. The 2029 Notes will mature on July 31, 2029, and the 2042 Notes will mature on July 31, 2042. www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/320193/000119312515273023/d12789d8k.htm

That only works when Jeff Bezos says it. Listen, most all of the news about Apple, Inc. is good to great. Last week, there was heavy option activity associated with post-earnings that, once again, acted as a negative talisman on the stock. Next week should give a better read on things, particularly if open interest doesn't screw it up. Capisce? You know what to do (or not to do in this case). I hope Eliot Spitzer follows through with his appeal to hold analysts accountable. This has been a scam for too long and breeds more WS distrust, if that's possible. I wouldn't dream of leaving the house without my Watch -- it has become indispensable with my daily routine now. Ignore the trolls and the FUD. It's stupid.

Halfway around got tapticbuzz...my daughter, driving up from San Diego, needed a passcode for a credit card. Siri and I turned away from the other joggers and I gave it through the watch. Five minutes later..got buzz that code had worked fine....never stopped jogging.....jogged into Starbucks and bought latte with Starbucks card on watch app. Stopped jogging. Checked time, distance, pace and status of daughter's trip. All good, never touched my phone.

Well AAPL CLOSED @ $849.1. I think I'll start using pre split numbers, seems to have a cathartic effect on me.

Some swing traders are fixated on seeing 115-110 and that we will break the 200 MA. Can it happen? You bet. In 2011 we broke it and stayed there for about 10 days. I don't see it only because this is the third attempt and we were able to beat it.
Regarding the 2 million watches, I think the story loses something in translation. The company never confirmed they only produced 2 million. It was only the analyst that made the 2 million statement. It is so predictable that these FUD stories are released just as we hit a new low hoping to drive it down further.
Interesting observations. I now have met three Apple Watch owners who don't were their watches all the time despite loving them. Reasons vary but fall in two categories. I paid so much for it that I can't risk using it at work and I can scratch or expose it to water or dirt. Secondly is that when they go out to a nice dinner or event it is till nicer to wear the movado watch instead the space gray aluminum. Apple needs to come out with nicer versions and lower the prices. Both I think will happen with version 2. But I think version 3 will take off because the sensors and improvements will be so big that millions will want to get it.
