The Fortune article was useful in giving Wall Street's attitude toward Apple: essentially that nothing will happen for the stock until well-received new products come on line. Their take is that Apple Pay and Apple Music have failed to attract throngs of new followers, and I must have missed a mention of Apple Watch. iPhone alone will not carry the stock to dramatically higher levels.

AAPL green in a sea of red. Rampant speculation about next week's event. Crickets here. Guess folks are just beaten down by the past two weeks, not to mention the past six months. The contrarian in me wants to think that this must be a good thing.
Meanwhile rumors of a Twitter buyout are flying fast and furious. Pretty hard to figure how a utility that has become the information lifeline not only for techies and smartphone users but also for journalists and network news shows has not been more effectively monetized.

All of the options flow has been bearish in terms of above average flow. Puts. Weeklies. Monthlies. Into that morning/earlier strength
Fwiw.

Not having seen any activity from you lately, glad to see you've still going to continue posting. I've been long a sizable aapl position for 9 years and recently trying to pickup enough knowledge to do a few swing trades a year. Your posts have been helpful...any one book in particular you would recommend?

Seeing some calls going in now. Btw AAPL up a putrid 12 percent in 3 years.
Pathetic overall...I'm as huge a bull as it gets but for whatever reason no one considers or treats it like a growth story. It is what it is and is impossible to swim against the investor sentiment that I truly believe is wrong overall but it is what it is.
Just for reference purposes I believe Amazon has doubled in that time frame. Again investor sentiment is that it is a growth name yadda yadda but being short would have bankrupted you over that time frame.
I know which one I would rather own. But more then that (being right or wrong and although I've traded Amazon, I have owned Apple all the way through) I would obviously prefer to be up 100 percent over 3 years then a putrid 15 or less.
I know I'm "cherry picking" the time frame but it doesn't make it any less maddening
/rant out

I don't understand charts, but today sure looks like a head & shoulders formed.

Micro timeframe yes, but "will the formation trigger" is a totally different story.

Looking at a huge iPad update cycle this time around. Lots of people have been sitting on old hardware for whatever reason. With better cameras, faster processor, force touch, touchID across the board, a rock solid iOS 9 and available stylus, the next quarter will be HUGE.

Interesting news about Apple producing its own content for Apple TV. Variety: Apple Eyes Move Into Original Programming I think it's possibly a great idea, assuming it is great programming. The money it takes to produce original content is petty cash for Apple. IBD: As Netflix Doubles Down, Apple Mulls Original Content?Kinda seems unfortunate, though, that with all its obvious ties to Pixar and Disney, Apple has to create its own content. Then again, TV was just a hobby when Jobs was still with us. BTW, Disney owns Hulu, so that might be another acquisition that got away.
