I think we are in the pre-selloff by those who want to sell before the sell off after earnings which will happen regardless of earnings because people want to beat the selloff that will happen when the y-o-y compares in the next first quarter show that the increase in the rate of beating the increase in the increase in revenue and iPhone sales has decreased. And I understand that.

TSLA announced yesterday: As far as the Model 3 goes, Musk relayed that Tesla’s electric car for the masses will be formally unveiled in March of 2016, whereupon the company will begin taking pre-orders. And if pre-orders for the Model S and Model X are any indication, it’s a safe bet that the Tesla Model 3 — sized at about 80% of the Model S — is poised to be a runaway hit. The only looming question is whether or not Tesla’s Model 3 design resonates with consumers. bgr.com/2015/09/03/tesla-model-3-price-release-model-x/Ist delivery in " 2 years"? hmmmmmm.

Yikes as you noted 2 years! Wonder what the down payment will be and having to wait a year to get the car?

Ist delivery in " 2 years"? hmmmmmm. They're small enough, with a large enough following, that they can still do that. As long as they don't vaporware it, and stay somewhat close to their expected schedule. In July we went to the local airshow and they had the current sedan there. While I was checking it out, another guy talked to the rep. When he found out that it was ONLY around $80k, not $120-130k, he was ready to buy. Personally, if the gigafactory was a little closer I'd take a look at the jobs there. But it's at least an hour and a quarter each way, and I'd have to be pulling in senior management pay plus stock to make that worth it. Still, it's great that it's being built near Reno, and the Reno area has been talking about having to do a lot of housing building to have enough. Luckily there's plenty of land, though water might be a different story.

It "resonates" with me .... I'm signing up for a pre order as soon as it's available . Hope that does not count as "car talk" ... Cheers to the longs ...

Hard to see how 'car talk' can hurt much at this point...

Otherwise cash is tied up in the RV payments, or I'd be adding serious additional AAPL at these levels.

Volume average. More sellers than buyers. My wag is many buyers are greedily waiting for another 12 minute crash.

I have been working on a systems dynamics model of stock price but I am stuck on a formula and wondered if anyone here has ideas I can use. The problem is how to relate four variables: stock price, perceived stock value (i.e. what the stock price SHOULD be, number of sellers and number of buyers. If you know the values of all of these at some time t, and the stock value doesn't change, what would the value of each of the other 3 be at t+1. Any ideas?

When I joined this board, it was under the strict understanding that there would be no math.

Right, hence the quotation marks.
