If more people switch to yearly upgrades of iPhones, that will negate some of the FUD practice of saying that "the next phone will have XYZ" before the current new release has even hit the stores. We're already seeing stories about the iPhone 7. Who cares if I get a new one every year? Buyer's remorse? Bah!

Is any one else concerned as to what pressures the Chinese are putting on Apple regarding encryption, data security and spying?

Wall Street was expecting that figure to be up 31%, so the stock will drop 10%.

Wall Street was expecting that figure to be up 31%, so the stock will drop 10%. It's simply baffling to my why this stock does not move .... 30% stronger ! Good news is the reviews of the new iPhones are fantastic and regardless of the reviews pre-sales are great so now we wait for the number on Monday morning and watch the stock go up less than it should .... only for some stupid Macro event on Tuesday that takes us to new lows .... SIGH .... At some point sanity has to come back to investors. Cheers to the longs ......

The damage from the drop to 92 and 109 is extensive. Institutional Ownership has dropped since then. Day traders are running the show and making a killing right now.
Apple needs to announce real numbers for us to move higher and hold that ground. I am looking for the 200 SMA to be breached before we get going. First weekend numbers may do the trick, but we are too low at this point.
OI for Oct indicates 120-125 (bullish view)Those are my targets by ER. What happens after that will depend on guidance. Knowing Apple they will be conservative, but last year we still moved 20% post earnings.

The damage from the drop to 92 and 109 is extensive. Good point. Take note of the contracting bollinger band in the daily chart. Also, 20-day SMA is curving up to meet with 50-day SMA. AAPL has been trapped between 20-day and 50-day SMAs for more than a week. Any theory as to what might happen in this scenario?

Symmetrical triangle. Bias is up. Plus we are dancing around th strong notion of being in wave 5. Giddy up

Looks like a mini IHS inside a larger IHS on the minute chart. The mini one brought us up tongue neckline of the larger one. If I were a betting man, I say we re-test the high of the day.

Assuming "tongue" should be "to the". Autocorrect can get interesting.

Yep, autocorrect. Typing at the doctors office. "To the neckline"

Has anyone received an e-mail from Apple showing that their iPhone 6S will arrive this Friday, the 25th? We got notice of our AppleCare+ kicking in but nothing to indicate the phone will arrive as scheduled.

Should get tracking number within next 24 hours. They don't want to release due to people likely calling and asking for early drop off. By not releasing tracking number - they avoid that silliness with their shipping vendors

I don't expect car talk to really move the stock. WS wants proof from Apple. So until we have one year worth of sales, it will be treated like a new category with no optimistic expectations. So the big move should take place at the end of 2020 assuming they do come out in 2019. They will sale a ton and WS will be left wondering what happened. No worries we have plenty of products and services to keep us going up at least 15% each year until then. And Apple will just keep buying back stock. I do want to see a big impact from Apple Watch and Apple TV by Christmas 2016.

Monday's (anticipated, obviously no guaranteed) unit sales update would be one possible place to look

Version 2.0 will sell much better. Apple Watch a lower price points and more sensors, Apple TV opened up to full gaming, books, and subscription programming of live and sports TV, along with Siri doing much more then helping choose movies, will get the party going. I do still expect 10 million Apple Watches and 5 million Apple TVs this Christmas. But with 85+ million iPhones WS will get sidetracked with the big numbers.

5M Apple TVs = maybe 1.something percent of Apple's FQ1 revenues. Assuming Apple TV sells that many units.
And it won't have to right away (it ships November, remember), to make a big impact over time.
