Good morning everyone. Asia is mixed. Europe is lower. VW pops while BMW tanks. The US is off after Yellen's speech. It's raining cats and dogs... at least on Wall Street. Of course, Apple is RED, trading at 114.00 -0.32 (0.28%) as of 5:51. Looks like the launch is further postponed. In the news: CNBC has Apple Issues Bug Fixes for iOS 9. Yesterday Horace Dediu published Soft Underbelly about disruption in the auto industry. A good read. That's it. Have a great day. Let's make money. When Wall Street is this insane there is ample opportunity.

Is it possible that we're entering a 2007-2008 market? Where Apple is executing well but broader market weakness keeps the stock down for 1-2 years? CAT down 6% today on global weakness.

Where does one park money in a market like this? Gold? Doesn't yield anything? Bonds - meh - low juice or high yield is too risky / binary? Apple baby

My T-Mobile 6sPlus 128 gb, ordered a week after sales started, originally showed a time of 2-3 weeks, now shipping was moved up to tomorrow. No idea what that means, but it's a nice surprise.

I do not subscribe to any financial sites so I generally just check Yahoo for option prices. The last two weeks I have noticed that Yahoo (on my iPad and both Macs) quits bringing up options expiring on the current Friday, starting Wednesday night. For instance when I bring up options today I can't see those that expire tomorrow so I have to go the CBOE to see prices (these are delayed of course but I can see them). My Wife who works in a Trust department at a bank can still pull up the options in Yahoo on her work computer. Has anyone else noticed this?
I generally buy on Thursday and immediately sell a in the money call on quite a few shares usually with a profit of between $.50 to a $1.00 per share for a one day investment. Assuming the stock price does not drop dramatically on Friday, I will not be holding the stock over the weekend. Anyway this is why I noticed the phenomenon of the missing options in Yahoo.

I was impressed by the article "The Obvious Case For Buying Apple" on Seeking Alpha. I could not get a decent link to it, but it shouldn't be hard to find

Everything drops in price which mean cash appreciates against all assets. Yes for sure but the majority of capital that is held in the market needs to be put somewhere by institutional firms that earn a promote or asset mgt fee. Staying in cash is like going to a fancy bar and ordering water - may make sense for sure but it's not cool to do

The 2:14 bump is back in fashion! Nicely Green here...just as sales in New Zealand start to rumble.

Great close. Right on $115.
Apple starts shipping and selling (in store) the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. BBRY also announces earnings in the morning.
I wonder which will get more press?

Assuming the stock price does not drop dramatically on Friday, I will not be holding the stock over the weekend. Anyway this is why I noticed the phenomenon of the missing options in Yahoo. I'm seeing the same thing here on my Yahoo account. I generally check in at times like this, where the stock ends at an integer value, to see if there are any major options forces at work. I'd rather do that than log into a financial account. But, I have Google bookmarked too, mainly since they were the best at showing after-hours movements, in chart format so you can see where it's been. Their options are showing this weeks: www.google.com/finance/option_chain?q=NASDAQ%3AAAPL&ei=lFoEVvGqK8WNmAG23LPIBgI think Google and Yahoo use the same or similar feed, at least for US stocks, since there have occasionally been blips that show up on both of them I believe (something like 112.34 being listed as the low on a day where the graphs only show 115.5) Anyway, I have some Oct 115-130's. A move to 120 would make them gain a bit, and a push over the next few days to 117 would get them back into above breakeven territory. That looked likely a week ago, but my preference was to sell them before tomorrow, since there always tends to be some movement, often to the negative, around iPhone release day. Visions get too hyped, and then lack of info makes people thing there's a big failure. Maybe this time is different, with not having a surge into the release. But the safe bet is to think this time would be more similar to the past, than different. At least in the 0-1 or over 0-3 week timeframe. I'll be happy to have those expectations be wrong though.

Thanks for the reply and the link 4aapl. I will try and use it. I just thought it strange that my Wife can still pull up this week's strikes but I can't. No good explanation for it that I can see. Good luck on your trades.

Race to the bottom .... Shorting any of those (carriers) might be a great strategy ... especially for the next few quarters.

So the non-Retina MacBook Air nobody likes anymore got 17.5 hours of battery life in PC Mag's testing. As in, 7.5 plus an iPad. Wow. www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2457827,00.asp

And Bloomberg has a FUD piece, Apple's New IPhone Hits Stores as Cook Faces Growth Questions, quoting our friend Andy Hargreaves saying "Demand for the new iPhones appears to be lower than last year, 'possibly meaningfully so.'” No link.
