Hey, look at that! A decent close! Market strength pulled AAPL's head above water at the last minute. Someone is just playing around with AAPL a bit. At the same time, 4-5 weeks ago some expected lows to be retested....maybe not the absolute lows of those jumps down, but in that direction. I take the last few days to be that, even if AAPL and the indexes don't line up to hit their lows on the exact same days. I wouldn't be surprised (or is it hoping) to be back bopping around 115 in 2-5 trading days. Nothing sky high, but going up a little too. It needs to at some point. But Fisher's TGH (the great humiliator) likes to strike you down when you push it too far or even you think that logic should be somewhere in the stock pricing.

Taipei, Sept. 30 (CNA) Taiwan-based Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (鴻海), the world's largest contract electronics maker, is planning to ask Apple Inc. to jointly invest funds to buy a stake in Japan-based Sharp's liquid crystal display business, according to Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun. focustaiwan.tw/news/aeco/201509300012.aspx

I think Ichan is getting cold feet. His predictions are half right. A year ago he wrote a letter predicting eps would grow 40%. That turns out correct. He also thought Apple should be at 204 by now. A year later it is at the same price. He is frustrated to say the least along with all of us. I'm sure he's [also] frustrated. But don't feel too bad for him, he's already made a [few] billion from his investment in Apple shares.

I have a feeling it's not helping.

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that this rising short interest means that an orchestrated FUDstorm maybe coming to drive us down even further before earnings come out. But we know better than that, right?

I sold some Jan 18 Puts at 100 awhile back. I wouldn't mind at all if they got assigned during a FUD storm.

Thought he said he is waiting for AAPL to decline much lower before buying. I didn't actually hear it but I read the story and it didn't say that .... while the rational side of me says it does not make a difference in the long run ... I don't want to see this thing any lower !

Pay saves the day! Was watching an anniversary screening of The Godfather the other night at our local Art Cinema, and as am leaving I check my lockscreen and see a notification from AMEX about a recent charge. I don't recognize the charge and it was also made during the Movie online. Called AMEX to confirm the charge was not mine and get the card # changed. By the end of the conversation my Card has been updated in the Pay App, the interesting thing was that the notification was available in Pay before the native AMEX App on my iPhone and on the Online Site.

Apple announced 10 million iPhones in first weekend last year. That was 11% more then 2013. They went on to report a 46% YOY growth rate in Q1 2015.
This year we get a 30% increase in first weekend. If we cut the growth rate by 2/3 to only 15% in Q1 2016 we still get 85.5 million iPhones.
WS is either bad at math or don't care.

Went to best buy again today ... twice in the last two weeks , strange as before that I hadn't been there in a couple of years. In any case, I'm buying a simple USB hub and was in a hurry ... walked up to the counter and asked if they took Apple pay ... 3 guys kind of muttered about it possibly being broken or not working yet ... so I pull out the plastic and I kid you not .. it took 4-5 minutes of me swiping and then having to insert my card so the stupid thing could read the chip inside. Long story short it was a total pain in the butt. If this is the solution to security that the CC companies are counting on ... they are nuts.
Cheers to the longs ....
