Good morning everyone. Europe and Asia are mixed. US pre-market is RED. AAPL is more RED, trading at 110.20 -0.58 (-0.52%). What did we expect? In the news: Apple Insider has Latest Apple Watch ads mark shift in style, focus on Apple Pay, Siri, more. Patently Apple has Apple Acquires Perceptio for iPhone AI, Facial Recognition. Reuters via Yahoo has Samsung Electronics struggles to find fix for smartphone woes. As an aside, I know a few people who refuse to invest in Apple, because "someone could come along and blow them out of the water at any time just like they did to Nokia, Blackberry and Samsung." MacWorldUK has Apple Pay 1 year in: Slow to grow, but 'off to a great start,' Apple says. Just a reminder, the liability for US breaches shifted to merchants October 1 for those without enhanced (Pay capable) card readers. Perhaps a few merchants will start to see the light. Incidentally, these are the same card readers where one must insert the card (chip) instead of swiping, which was much faster... and Pay is faster still. Enough. Have a great day. Let's make money.

Regarding last nights discussion of understanding Wall Streets negative perceptions of Apple. Must admit that I pay close attention to the FUD. Its intensity and shrillness is an indicator of what Wall Street is trying to achieve. When the FUD gets sparse and we see buying on weakness, it's often a sign that its safe to get back in the water.

Douche, Andy Hargreaves, is out with another fine prediction: Apple will sell 66.9 million iPhones in FQ1. Lemmings with no brains, his followers, are selling accordingly.. FUDtastic!

I'll reiterate what I said yesterday: Apple should stop reporting unit sales and put an end to this. At that point they stop being a phone company and start being a tech revenue monster.

Pay attention to the FUD. Understand which way 'they' are trying to herd the lemmings. Position accordingly. Profit.

Honest question: doesn't max pain just tend to congregate around wherever price has been +/- $1? So on a week like this one where price has been fairly stable, wouldn't max pain be a result of price action rather than a predictor of it?

On the one hand, I agree with you, and this would be the perfect time to do it. iPhone, Mac, services all growing strongly, and new categories like Watch, Apple TV and Apple Pay just starting to emerge and hopefully accelerate. Also the possible rejuvenation of the iPad line. It would be extremely difficult to decipher strong and weak product lines without Apple's numbers. That said, for the astute investor, the numbers Apple gives us are incredibly valuable and allow us to make decisions that do tend to pay out handsomely in the long run. It's a tough call.

So this thing is essentially a MacBookAir except it costs more and runs Windows. Artman, I am not sure why this is worth getting excited about.

Don't want to jinx it, but it's certainly nice to see AAPL outperforming the market today.

A decent read from Neil Cybart, Above Avalon, from yesterday. www.aboveavalon.com/notes/2015/10/5/apple-watch-is-being-severely-underestimatedIt's long, so here's the spoiler/conclusion. "Don't Underestimate Apple Watch The Apple Watch contains too much promise and potential to question it's long-term viability as a product category. It is becoming clear that the device was dealt a bad hand when it comes to early expectations, being compared too much to its very successful siblings - the iPhone and iPad. However, when looking at all of the various data points, estimates, and trends, it becomes clear that the Apple Watch is doing much better than it seems. We are living in an iPhone world with Apple expected to sell more than 250 million iPhones over the next 12 months. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus position the iPhone that much closer to becoming someone's sole computer. In such a world, the Apple Watch likely has a role in handling some of the more simple tasks that were once given to iPhones, in addition to being given an expanding list of use cases that revolve around identity, monitoring, and personality. In a world moving towards more personal technology, Apple Watch has a place. It's time to stop underestimating Apple Watch."

Three white soldiers? Saw someone post that somewhere. The candle bodies length is small and decreasing which I don't think is very positive, but it is the first three consecutive higher open/higher close in the downtrend. Something new? Rally cap time?

Down a buck after hours? Are they reading the latest click bait anti aapl blogs on financial sites.? Never ending story. Apparently down on YUM brands underperformance in China (YUM is down something like -18% after hours.) So once again China is a worry for AAPL. Never mind that 10 seconds of research, or reading YUMs actual press release, will tell you that the reason YUM/KFC has been having problems is due to their own execution, not a China market problem. They still haven't gotten out from under their tainted food scandal in China. But no, actual reading is beyond most people, sell anything related to China. It's the only clear option.

More like bearish advance blocks. The candlestick has become progressively shorter. In bullish three soldiers, the candlestick should be about the same length.

Not if said company is organized and reports by geographic region (instead of product category), e.g., Apple, Inc.
