Good morning everyone. Asia is mixed while Europe and the US are GREEN as oil rebounds. AAPL is nicely GREEN as well, trading at 100.50 +1.97 (2.00%) -- again orders of magnitude more than the broader market. Liking this trend. Three days is a 'trend', right? All this with no news. We'll see where the day goes. Have a great day. Let's make money.

What is significant about this is the potential in recurring income if Apple were to also add a video streaming package, home automation, and a shopping service for $45 a month. We are looking at $50 billion a year of recurring income.

We are looking at $50 billion a year of recurring income. You mean revenue. Income would be far, far less just looking at the 27% cut that Apple gets from Music.

Tuffet, does that mean on an overall basis, Apple receives only 27% of all Apple Music revenues? And out of that they have to cover the costs of running Apple music?

I don't know how to post a tweet, but I liked this this morning: Bajarin responding to this "study." Sameer Singh @sameer_singh17 Study: Apple Watch shipments total 8.8 million in 2015 on.recode.net/1SM6iiK Ben Bajarin @benbajarin 4h4 hours ago Ben Bajarin Retweeted Sameet Singh Ha! They shipped nearly this many before Q4. Also flawed research.

Even at 100M users it's not a huge profit generator at Apple's scale. Apple Pay is the same - at 0.15% even $100B of payments is $150M to Apple. These are just ecosystem strengtheners. Nothing compares to hardware profits. It really will take something huge like a car to move the needle.

CarPlay
I have a Lincoln MKZ and it uses a touch screen. I happen to think this is a more natural way to interface with the car than a scroll knob or other European-like inout device.
Is CarPlay compatible with a touch screen?

Seems like the SOTU speech is going down well. Asian markets and futures reflect that. Hopefully it's party time tomorrow
