CLSA survey shows demand for Hauawei, Xiaomi and Samsung going down, while demand for iPhones are doing well. (I don't recall past surveys from them, so I can't speak to their accuracy.

According to CNBC: "Apple (AAPL) would be interested in any potential Time Warner (TWX) spinoff, according to the New York Post. Apple's interest stems from the possibility of the company launching a stand-alone streaming TV service."

Love how Apple's money burns a hole in other peoples pockets. Why I prefer increasing the dividend and buybacks, get that money to the shareholders before someone comes up with a 'must do acquisition'.

Here's the thing - the beauty of it all is that they have so much they can do it ALL - acquisitions, dividend, buybacks, etc. The real question is simply whether or not it would make sense (the acquisition) and if it did - GO FOR IT.

Will acknowledge that I did not 'get' Disney's acquisition of CapCities/ABC. It was a very prescient move.
That said, many corporate mergers and acquisitions leave one wondering, e.g. AOL/Time Warner.

We say Apple should've bought Netflix. Back then, while NFLX was still cheap, it would've made more sense. However, it doesn't seem like it would be hard for Apple to do ALL that Netflix does today, and more.
Software UI is pretty much standard (unless Apple chooses to complicate it), Apple already has data centers to handle the streaming, and the cash to fund filming and marketing of original content.

Well that was interesting. I got assigned on this weeks put spread. I had closed out all of my Jan spreads except for this tiny loser I was too late on. It wasn't worth closing as it was too far gone. I guess it was so far in the money it was illiquid and the guy on e other side of the trade chose to exercise it. I exercised the other side of it myself to cover. First time it has ever happened, mostly painless (except for the loss I took.) For those in spreads, don't fear the assignment.

Hasn't been having much impact lately, but always worth keeping an eye on Max Pain which has slipped to $105.71 for this week.

With regard to the Time Warner rumors, perhaps it is worth noting that an often used strategy when selling something is to leak that someone else is interested. Particularly if one can credibly suggest the someone else is someone that many might not want to have the something...

Money flowing from AMZN to AAPL?

We're above 101. If we can hold and stay at or above 101, this sets us up for a nice bounce. Also, I can't even remember when the last time we had 3 up days in a row was.
105 is the next big level to watch for. Break above 105, and we'll make a run for 115.
Max pain points towards 100, but as we have seen in the fall towards the end of 2015, Max Pain doesn't always work. Hopefully Max Pain doesn't drag and stall us at 100.

Like the action this morning. My gut says on Friday we close between 99.99-102.99

Very encouraging that AAPL is holding up so well this entire week. I'm still cautious though. That Q2 guidance is going to be make or break.

CNBC (via Yahoo) has Shareholder adds to Apple. The shareholder is Karen Firestone of Aureus Asset Management. "if you told me that there is a company selling for $100 per share with $30 a share cash that's grown 5-10%, has a 2% dividend and has the ability to grow that double digits you would think that was an attractive stock, right?"

Liked it better when there was a big gap between AAPL and the broader market. Especially when AAPL was GREEN.

So the markets get sold off because on Amzn and Netflix because they have gone up so much in the last 12 months and now manages to take us down when they correct.
If it is true that Apple can't buy shares 3 weeks before earnings and we do report over $81 billion, then that will be proof WS had planned this all along.

Did anyone notice that CMG is up 6% on the CEO's Webcast comments reassuring analysts?
Too bad our extremely highly-paid CEO can't take some time doing that, instead of all the other extraneous social justice nonsense.

What is disconcerting is Tim did respond via email to Cramer last time AAPL took a nosedive. Is there something different this time AAPL tanked. I feel that maybe Tim is back to being Tim. Fingers crossed.

When you listen to the webcast, ir.chipotle.com/phoenix.zhtml?p=irol-eventDetails&c=194775&eventID=5214493 CMG says: 1) fix everything FIRST 2) start advertising and promoting in FEBRUARY. IF APPLE says: iPhone sales were great in OCTOBER through JANUARY, but we see a slowdown in FEBRUARY and MARCH: THE STOCK WILL PROBABLY FALL

Too bad our extremely highly-paid CEO can't take some time doing that, instead of all the other extraneous social justice nonsense. Completely wrong suggestion. Follow the logic - For Chipotle, some really bad shit happened, affected the company terribly, stock got hammered. CEO reassured everyone today that it will get better. If Tim Cook reassures us that all is well, after the stock got hammered, EVERYONE and their brother will be assuming that some bad shit happened and he's getting in front of it.
