Several weeks ago, on The Good Wife (one of my favorite TV shows), an interior designer criticized the law firm's offices as being stale, "like an Apple store circa 2009" (approximate quote). There have been several stories in the last few days about the planned new design of Apple stores, which starts with the new SF store and which will gradually roll out at the rate of 5-10% per year to all 480 Apple stores. Today's Seattle Times has an article with an illustration showing a detail of the stores: seattletimes.comThe look of the stores will remain austere, with blond wood and white walls. I love color, so I wish they would experiment more with color, but nobody from Apple called me up to get my ideas.

such a cute video! The smiling hosts are suggesting the visit by Mr. Cook is a REALLY big deal for . The distinguished professor answers the questions by disagreeing with the premise of the questions.

Must have cost six-figures, in a low-margin sector. Seems like moving deckchairs around on the Titanic. The economy just sucks, and all of retail is getting hit hard. I don't see how store redesigns make people want to buy more stuff.

Nobody wants to shop in a tired space, especially for an aspirational brand.
