+1003 Interesting article that reflects this board to a certain degree. Makes me appreciate our long term holders such as Luckychoices even more. www.usatoday.com/story/money/2016/06/01/apples-problem-its-board-and-wall-street-tim-cook-elon-musk-tesla/85235550/"“Rather than projecting their frustration onto Cook,” Mukunda continued, “Apple investors should look in the mirror. They are the problem, not Cook, to the extent they insist that Apple focus on short-term performance.” To be sure, that’s a tall order, since that’s asking Apple to battle the now-dominant corporate and economic culture that focuses almost exclusively on short-term results"

So what the hell is such bad news that fell so much today. Options playing havoc again?

Yet another article (won't bother with a link) from Apple hit-piece-factory Investors Business Daily forecasting the iPhone losing share to Android over the next few years, but somehow no insight as to what that might do to its 94% profit share, of course. The predictions have always been that profit share would eventually follow market share, and even when the prophesy is never realized it somehow causes results like last quarter's $10.5B PROFIT to get shrugged off. Meanwhile the monetization of the majority share continues to shrivel as ad-blocking software surges (except in the US, oddly) and a shrinking percentage of the Android population bothers to upgrade to the latest releases to which the new supposedly-revenue-increasing features have been added.
Apologies, I know I am preaching to the choir, but sometimes I just have to let it out before my head explodes.

Investors Business Daily exists for one purpose, to sell their rag and very expensive seminars. It rests at the pinnacle of hit piece journalism.

Looks like another issue with iCloud Music Library, with people not being able to connect and music libraries being deleted (not sure if temporary or permanent). Absolutely unacceptable. Apple software is hot garbage. New motto - It just doesn't work.
This is what worries me - canned generic statements about a bright future, ridiculously high R&D spending, but they just can't seem to execute on the software and cloud side, which is hugely important and becoming more so with each passing day.
Spend less time choosing the curved glass for your $5B campus and more time making sure your products work, please.

I'm inclined to agree, as I just had a bad experience with my MacBook Pro during a long trip, in which my computer froze suddenly and repeatedly. It was out of warranty and I thought that if I took it to Apple, they wouldn't be able to find what was wrong. It turned out to be a problem with El Capitan 10.11.4, which was corrected in 10.11.5, but it was extremely frustrating, and others with the same problem were having graphic cards and mother boards replaced for what turned out to be a software glitch. "It just works" is no longer accurate.

Since updating to El Capitan, I hate my iMac and will not buy another one. Nothing but problems.

How old is your iMac and what problems are you experiencing? iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) Power saving / sleep mode totally wonky. Refuses to sleep on command (wakes right up) and does so apparently randomly. Went away for 4 days and was still "awake". Used it for 15 minutes or so and goes to sleep. Already did the "delete preferences file", changed and reset settings, yada, yada ... Most keyboard shortcuts are also not working. Cmd-Z must be done from menu. Various other anomalies I can't recall right now.

I have a late 2013 27" iMac running version 10.11.5 El Capitan. For what it is worth, I have seen none of these problems. I have the i7 version with 8 GB if that makes a difference. I selected "prevent computer from sleeping when display is off" under the Energy Saver Settings since I am not running off a battery. Hope this helps
