The Samsung trial has lingered way too long, it is absolutely ridiculous these types of litigation take so long.

Remember that Walmart / BestBuy lead effort to avoid using ApplePay and going with Current-C? Well, that never really got off the ground. Arstechnica is reporting that Current-C is shutting down. Also, if you go to CurrentC's website, they also state the last day to use their system is June 28th. (Is anyone using it?)

I am looking at some ideas for playing with options and I could use some help. Does anyone know where I can get historical data for a particular AAPL option? I am interested in seeing how the volatility affects the option price historically. I can find historical data for VXAPL, but that doesn't tell me the whole story, I need to see how well movement in VXAPL correlates to the actual option price. Any ideas? Free data is always preferred

As i recall, not all options are covered, but in the money and near the money options are listed.

This is an article from the right-wing echo chamber. Assuming the reporting is even half-accurate, Pelosi's point was simply that government investments enabled much of the technology behind our gadgets. Remember that the origins of the internet were the US government, as was the GPS system that our phones use. If you don't want to give credit to "the government," perhaps you could at least acknowledge the role of the Department of Defense in enabling the basic research in computing and communications. THAT was Pelosi's point. Apple certainly is not funding the basic research that will change lives.

I have only posted politics in these threads extremely rarely, so if you don't wish to read a conservative rant skip this post. Nancy Pelosi is an idiot and a pathological liar. The government has funded a lot of basic research but corporations have done more, a lot more, in their own labs and through corporate grants to universities. As far as research dollars spent the government has had some outstanding success, but overall the federal government is not focused and wastes billions yearly on stupid irrelevant research, I witnessed it in graduate school first hand. The best grant writers got the funds no matter how ridiculous the project. One I was involved in indirectly was the effect of casein micelle size on mastitis in cows, friggin groundbreaking. She conveniently leaves out the fact that Apple pays the highest corporate taxes in the US. So maybe just maybe Apple indirectly funded a large slice of this government "research". Her end game is obvious, since the federal government invented everything then all corporations must be required to turn over their profits to said government. I suppose the US government also funded the LCD breakthroughs by Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, etc in Asian countries. What about the research labs at Qualcom, Broadcom, Arm Holdings, this list is seemingly endless. Nancy Pelosi is a contemptible human, that happens to one of the richest representatives in Congress. Shit, now I will be pissed off the rest of the evening, at least the Rangers beat the Astros. Sorry for the post, it is highly political but I blew up, felt like throwing up.

Is there something in the water in Texas that makes people crazy? But even the silly and retarded need love, bless their hearts. I love photographing and hiking in that state, but it is the last place in America I would want to live (and those of you who live in that backwater state are glad that I'll never live there!). God, I miss JD and his halfway intelligent, if misguided rants.

I'd take Texas over elitist attitude any day of the week. Bless your little heart

Sorry Rick that the post upset you. I knew it would be perceived as political but it was Apple centric and I made no political comment. I figured that firestorm would be upset (factual evidence of lunacy on that side always does upset him) but that always makes my day and hopefully keeps him out of Texas. I failed to realize that it might upset posters such as yourself and others who I consider to be the voices of reason and respect on the blog. I should have known as Pelosi's comments caused me to have the same reaction. Anyway I apologize for posting something that caused you to break from your usual calm and non-political views and I will try to not mention the wicked witch of the West again, even if it does pertain to AAPL.
