You may be right, but I don't believe so. I believe Apple's Siri has the capability but Apple is implementing Diferential Privacy before extending Siri's capabilities for data mining which should give Siri parity while protecting privacy. That's my story and I am sticking to it. Then again my knowledge in AI is very limited.

But Andreessen doesn't say HOW Alexa is better... What's so much better than Google Now or Siri?

I haven't tried Amazon's product but it blows my mind at how painfully slowly Siri seems to be improving. It's been almost 5 years now. I don't know anyone who doesn't think it's a joke of a product, even those who love their iPhones in every other way. I tried to set a timer the other and it got hung up and wouldn't process my request. It needs to be consistently accurate or it's just a waste of time. I sure hope Apple isn't pegging its future on Siri.

What the hell happened at 3:30? Jabil Circuit (JBL) were down 7.8% to $17 in after hours trading despite a better-than-expected third quarter, as its guidance disappointed. The contract electronics manufacturer said it earned 17 cents a share on revenue of $4.3 billion. Analysts were looking for earnings of 49 cents a share on revenue of $4.18 billion. However, it also said it expected to earn between 15 cents and 35 cents in the fourth quarter, well below the 53 cents analysts were forecasting. It sale estimate, between $4.15 billion and $3.35 billion, is also below the $4.65 billion consensus. The company also authorized a $400 million share repurchase plan. Jabil’s connections with Apple (AAPL) are closely watched by investors, although it also counts names like NetApp (NTAP) and Ericsson (ERIC) among its clients. Earlier this month Goldman Sachs cut Jabil to Sell, citing declining estimates for smartphone sales. In mid-March Jabil tumbled on its downbeat second quarter and guidance, although some analysts defended the stock. Jabil shares closed down in regular trading, and are off more than 20% year to date.

I sure hope Apple isn't pegging its future on Siri. Apple makes a few strategic blunders over the last few years: Focus on FaceTime but neglect iMessage. Siri is a $200 mil joke. After Scott Forstall left, nobody knows what to do with it for awhile. Delay iPhone 4.7" and 5.5" because of stubborn insistence of some folks on quality, and then look like an iPad micro. Discontinue 4" screen iPhone. Executive discord and messy retail chief succession.
