Great conference call. Tim sounded much better! Confident and upbeat... Onward and upward!

Just pulled the trigger on more AAPL shares. As I've said before I've been playing with my IRA (no tax consequences) and pretending to be a trader ... HA. I've actually done really well .... mostly I've been trading in and out of TSLA and even grabbed a bunch on NFLX after the last earnings report when they dropped like a stone.
Well , I sold my NFLX this morning and put that back into my beloved fruit company ... BUT I'm keeping the TSLA as that stock seems bulletproof right now. Yes , it's WAY risker than AAPL but my thinking is it will hit $260 before AAPL hits $120. In any case I really like what TSLA is doing and believe in their vision so let's see what happens.
GREAT morning .... congrats to all the people who stayed in AAPL. NOW, if I could only get Tim and Elon to go to lunch ..... they have a lot in common and putting those two companies together would produce synergistic results (IMHO)
Cheers to the longs ....

Don't want to be a Debbie Downer but it would be sad if this rise fizzles and we go back below 100 again. Btw, for anyone interested in Apple's early stages, here's a long piece. Employee #1: Apple

$105. Above... good chance of a run towards $150-$200 over the next 12 months. Otherwise, as what you said.

I don't see 150 for a long while. Maybe 2018. We will go in waves with each low higher. I see 105-121 by Dec. yes a big range but much to hard to predict how the stock will act. That CC was very bullish. I think Apple Watch 3 next year and the iPhone 8 are the bigger story.

I thought this was significant enough to mark the occasion, since I don't remember this happening to this extent in...well...the whole time since Steve returned? Medium dot com version of the Services post (the Fortune 100 Company comment) is here t.co/0RPSEkb4x1...of course, if you CAN put up with it and would LIKE to potentially throw an ad farthing or two my way, you can also see both (I know, two posts in one day?!) of my new posts on Apple News, same as always.

Bigger than Halliburton, Raytheon and Dupont to name a few.

AAPL just sold their 1 billionth iPhone....geez louise! I'll just leave this here. I really enjoyed reading this. John Dvorak was once the authoritative voice on Apple in the media. He was the pioneer of Apple FUD. He once bragged in an interview that the easiest way to get attention was to write an piece critical of Apple. He explained that not only did you get tremendous attention from that article, but you then got to write an second article defending or explaining the first one. This callousness toward the truth and accuracy has left him in the ashbin of history, but sadly, his lessons have survived.

Woe is me...
Very very long time holder, and i went the wrong direction based on the last 2 years. I am ashamed to say 70% of my, and my wife's net worth is in, and due to AAPL. I made my livelyhood selling and supporting Apple products since 1982, and i relished every stinking moment of it. I knew Steve personally, and last saw him shortly before his death, at his last MacWorld conference. Sinbad (the comedian), myself, and Mohammed Ali, sat front and center for 45 minutes chatting with Steve, before the unwashed masses were allowed into Moscone for the keynote. It was, and remains the highlight of my career. I enjoyed a very revered partnership with Apple, and ran their largest US independant reseller. I am blessed.
I lost faith this last year, and made the huge mistake of selling a large amount of AAPL at 98.85 on last Friday. Fck! I bought two stocks to replace it with, T, and VZ, due to high dividend yields, and the fact that im transitioning into capital preservation, vs appreciation. I am 60, and i am fed up with working... Been there, done that!
Now I only have 50% of our net worth in AAPL, woe is me! I lost >100k in the process, and i would rinse and repeat the same steps again, even in hindsight. I will sleep better.
I do, and will continue to have great faith in Tim, et al, and think the best is yet to come. Ymmv...
Cheers to the longs, and my new career in photography, with no more IT stress, im out, and good riddance. 35 years was more than enough.

Cheers to the longs, and my new career in photography, with no more IT stress, im out, and good riddance. 35 years was more than enough. It happens. While I wasn't risking huge percentages of our portfolio, I have played the AH market before, on earnings. After several successful sells in AH to buy back a few days later, getting a few more shares in the IRAs, one time it didn't work. And so we ended up with fewer shares. I haven't done this for 4-5 years now, instead just mostly sitting and holding the stock, though playing with some options, mainly bull call spreads. Likewise, we've bought our house and our rental. While those have provided more stability, that was 9 and 6 years ago, and shares sold then would be worth a lot more now. Such is life. And we will be selling off maybe half of our holdings at some point to move into the S&P or a dividend ETF. AAPL is nice and we currently live off the dividends, but there's also a lot of ups and downs. With a young family, and house upgrades and trips in the plans, well before things like college expenses, more stability will be nice. I doubt we'll ever be entirely out of AAPL. But we will be selling down some of the over concentrated portfolio, even though that concentration is what has gotten us here. Good luck on your sales, even if it retrospect it would have been financially more advantageous to hold on for a couple more days.

Sounds like something I could have wrote myself (except for the meeting SJ part). Good luck.
