Stiglitz is being ridiculous. I assume when he prepares his tax returns he doesn't take ONE deduction, right? It's a loop-hole. He should go ahead and pay on your entire income. We need tax reform plain and simple. For him to call it fraud - I don't care WTF prize he was awarded - it's nonsensical. Thank God the weekend is near...ugh.

Or he should do like what Apple does, take the deduction and invest in U.S. secured Treasuries and bonds. This genius probably doesn't have a clue of what he pontificates about.

This is what I don't like about Jony Ives, too stubborn on form over function. Give the customers what they need.

Does anybody know just how much Apple spent on stock buybacks this last QTR?
I found some conflicting info. WSJ said $4B and official release say $13B in both Dividends and Buybacks.
But how much of that is Buybacks?

But how much of that is Buybacks? We returned a total of over $13 billion to investors during the June quarter as follows. We paid $3.2 billion in dividends and equivalent. We spent $4 billion on repurchases of 41.2 million Apple shares through open-market transactions. And we launched a new $6 billion ASR, resulting in initial delivery and retirement of 48.2 million shares. seekingalpha.com/article/3991811-apple-aapl-timothy-donald-cook-q3-2016-results-earnings-call-transcript?part=single

The same day you post a link that Stiglitz, a Hillory Clinton advisor, basically describes Apple as a felon defrauding the government we find out Tim Cook is hosting a Clinton fund raiser. Oh the irony.

Goodbye, lazy Greater China narratives.
I'll probably post in home game detail on this later. Mercel's mad at me for being cryptic apparently, so just for my old AFB forum compatriots: Chew on that last data point pair for a while. It's NOT a typo.

I think Mercel is too busy laughing to the bank with his big wins in RE.

The recently referenced CMU professor Vivek Wadwha has the solution to the "problem" of "Apple having no new products since the iPhone." They should license iOS. It's been quite a while since I've heard anyone who gets Apple this well. /s
