Apple needs to take out yesterday's high or it could be a double top and go back go the 90s. As much as I like the 90s - let's hope Apple take out yesterday's HOD and then it should be in a good position to run to 110.

From the earning gap up, if break below $103, high chance that gap would be filled i.e. decline to $96. What I don't understand why don't break above yesterday's high, could lead to breaking below $103.

I see a topping pattern - 1-2-3 ceiling. If Apple cannot take out 106 - I think a new range will be formed between low 90s and 106. I'm just sharing an opinion vs spelling out facts. Always discount, take with a grain of salt, etc

You know what they say about making assumptions! (Greater China revenue, micro-derivative study)

Attention! Question for the class! What should the price of AAPL be on August 24th to enable THE BOD to award Tim Cook RSUs?The number of performance-based RSUs that vested was determined based on Apple's total shareholder return (TSR), relative to the other companies in the S&P 500 over a two-year period from August 25, 2013 through August 24, 2015. TSR is calculated based on the change in a company's stock price during the two-year period, taking into account any dividends paid during that period, which are assumed to be reinvested in the stock. In accordance with the terms of the award, the beginning value used for calculating TSR is the average closing stock price for the 20 trading days prior to August 25, 2013. Apple's beginning value was calculated to be $68.56 (adjusted for dividends and Apple's 7:1 stock split in June 2014). Similarly, the ending value used for calculating TSR is the average closing price for the 20 trading days ending on August 24, 2015. Apple's ending value was calculated to be $121.18 (adjusted for dividends). ( 3) Mr. Cook's award provides that if Apple's relative TSR performance is within the top third of the companies that remain in the S&P 500 for the entire performance period, the 280,000 performance-based RSUs vest in full. If Apple's performance is in the middle third, the RSUs will be reduced by 50%, and if Apple's performance is in the bottom third, the RSUs will be reduced to zero. Apple needed to achieve a TSR of at least 41.36% to beat the middle third of the companies in the S&P 500 for the performance period, and at least 16.93% to beat the bottom third of the companies. Apple's TSR for the two-year period was 76.76%, which ranked 46th of the 458 companies that were included in the S&P 500 for the entire period and placed Apple in the 90th percentile. Therefore, all 280,000 of the RSUs subject to performance requirements vested. investor.apple.com/secfiling.cfm?filingID=1209191-15-67882&CIK=320193The remaining 5,320,000 restricted stock units in this award are scheduled to vest as follows: 700,000 restricted stock units vest on August 24, 2016; 700,000 restricted stock units vest on August 24, 2021; the balance of 3,920,000 restricted stock units vests in seven equal annual installments commencing August 24, 2015, assuming continued employment through the applicable vesting date and, with respect to a portion of each annual installment, satisfaction of the applicable performance requirements investor.apple.com/secfiling.cfm?filingID=1181431-14-30218&CIK=320193from 2015: www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/320193/000119312515356351/d17062d10k.htm#toc17062_9from 2014: www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/320193/000119312514383437/d783162d10k.htm#toc783162_7I have no issue with Tim Cook's performance as the boss. Hiis original 1 million share RSU grant, (originally valued at $367 million as YOU recall,) was restructured to be compared to the S&P.

What should the price of AAPL be on August 24th to enable THE BOD to award Tim Cook RSUs?It's not the price on that date but the simple 20 day moving average. That could probably fall to 100 or 95 without jeopardizing his performance-based RSU. Depends on what the other S&P components do, too, of course.

Assuming a 2 year comparison, which is not the bar the Apple BOD set, he would lose a portion of the RSU grant. If it were a 3 year comparison and issued today, he would get all of the RSU grant.
