Are there 2 better self-promoters who have leveraged their access to Steve Jobs better than John Scully and Walter Issacson? Tired of hearing either judging today's Apple.

Are there 2 better self-promoters who have leveraged their access to Steve Jobs better than John Scully and Walter Issacson? Tired of hearing either judging today's Apple. Actually, I must confess to being tired of hearing from Steve Wozniak as well. This latest piece, "Woz warns against Apple removing iPhones' headphone jack" is a good example of articles Apple could do without. Does he really need to state, "Well this isn't the company that Apple was originally, or the company that really changed the world a lot"? Apple wouldn't exist without the two Steves but I wish this Steve would only give interviews about what he did "way back when" or what he's personally doing now. A pple co-founder Steve Wozniak believes the company will be making a mistake if it takes away the iPhone headphone jack.
Apple hasn’t officially confirmed whether it will eliminate the 3.5mm headphone jack on the iPhone 7, but several leaks of the new design indicate that is the case. The new iPhone is expected to launch on Sept. 23.
"If it's missing the 3.5mm earphone jack, that's going to tick off a lot of people," Wozniak said on Monday, per The Australian Financial Review. If Apple doesn’t provide a standard headphone jack, iPhone 7 users will be prompted to buy Bluetooth headphones or headphones that connect to Apple's Lightning port.
"I would not use Bluetooth … I don't like wireless,” Wozniak said. “I have cars where you can plug in the music or go through Bluetooth, and Bluetooth just sounds so flat for the same music."
By eliminating the headphone jack, Apple can shave more than one millimeter off the thickness of the phone and dub the iPhone 7 its thinnest iPhone ever. The company also sees potential for revenue if it can control its last industry standard port. It could offer “smart earbuds” that work in conjunction with certain apps and Apple notifications.
Both Apple and outside vendors will probably also sell adapters to connect 3.5mm headphones to the iPhone's Lightning port. Wozniak noted that he would use an adapter rather than switch over to wireless.
"Mine have custom ear implants, they fit in so comfortably, I can sleep on them and everything," he said of his current headphones. "And they only come out with one kind of jack, so I'll have to go through the adapter.
The Apple co-founder has been critical of the company’s direction over the past few months. He spouted off with some opinions on the Apple Watch during a Reddit session in March.
"Twenty watches from $500 to $1,100. The band's the only difference? Well this isn't the company that Apple was originally, or the company that really changed the world a lot," he said during an "Ask Me Anything" session on Reddit.
Wozniak is still slightly optimistic that Bluetooth technology could improve enough to win him over.
"If there's a Bluetooth 2 that has higher bandwidth and better quality, that sounds like real music, I would use it,” he said. “But we'll see. Apple is good at moving towards the future, and I like to follow that."

I have to agree (with luckychoice, not with Woz). Sounds a lot like Woz is saying that Apple should "change the world a lot" ... by NOT CHANGING stuff (in this case by not removing the ancient headphone jack) in their products Basically, you don't change the world by not making changes. [Just as an addendum, the last time I used my headphone jack was the day before I got my first BT earbuds]

This is the best article I've read about Apple in YEARS! It was easy to see through time that Apples been heading this direction just from the leaks of their acquisitions but this article makes it very clear how they view it and intend to execute. At the very least it will serve as an easy link in response to those who claim Apple is lagging in these areas. Thanks so much since 84.

This article gives a great example of the advantages of one company doing the hardware, software and service.
