Looks like a test of $100 is in the cards. Good marketing push for iPhone 7 camera - shots from an NFL game (SI) and the US open (ESPN).

Nice opening. I was nervous with pre market. Especially given the context of the broader market.

Just got off the phone with Apple after attempting to change pick up locations for my iPhone 7 on Friday. No luck but the friendly lady did share that demand for this phone is insane especially jet black. Apple will do very well, and I think WS is starting to confirm given the reversal today. I am sure someone on WS made a few phone calls and knows how pre orders did over the weekend.

What Sponge was probably trying to say, is that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that demand is high for the iPhone 7 and the Watch. A sharp contrast to Wednesday when people were asking what is Apple hiding and a sharp affirmation of what this Board has been saying for several years -- that Apple should not release first weekend numbers.
Even a perennial bear (spouting bull) like Doug Kass is smart enough not to get caught short... Though I can hope not.

All one needs to do is have contacts at a few carriers and suppliers. WS has been correct the last few years. Sales were down last Dec. based on checks and no one believed them. But the stock took a dive and it has yet to recover.

100-day EMA. 25-week EMA. Slight bullish divergence.

... I think WS is starting to confirm given the reversal today. I am sure someone on WS made a few phone calls and knows how pre orders did over the weekend. Hope you're right, otherwise the timing of the no weekend sales figure is atrocious, one day before the market dives. If you're right, it would be brilliant, announce a bearish news before a bullish event.

Unbelievable! Batteries explode on new flagship model and analysts already see a bottom in the stock. I guess share buyback and cheap valuation only apply to Samesung.
Samsung's stock plunges to biggest ever price decline, but analysts see a bottom Today 3:36 PM ET (MarketWatch) By Caitlin Huston, MarketWatch
Share buyback, inexpensive valuation could set a floor for the stock
Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. stock plunged Monday to suffer its biggest one-day price decline in the South Korea-based technology giant's 28-year history as a public company, in the wake of the warning from U.S. regulators (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/stop-using-galaxy-note-7-feds-say-samsung-working-on-us-recall-2016-09-09) to stop using the latest smartphone.
The company launched the Galaxy Note 7 in August and later issued a global recall (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/samsung-galaxy-note-7-recall-trade-ins-gift-cards-offered-in-us-2016-09-02) after finding that the phone may explode as a result of faulty battery cells. But despite the hit to the stock, J.P. Morgan analysts said they don't see a bottomless drop.
The analysts say they expect the stock to remain little changed from current levels in the near term. And with more shares left in its buyback program, which is expected to be completed by the end of October, and an inexpensive valuation, the downside is likely to be limited.
Samsung's shares (005930.SE) could also see some benefit from the $1 billion the company is set to receive from the sale of its printer business (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/hp-to-buy-samsung-printer-business-in-1-bln-deal-2016-09-12) to HP Inc. (HPQ), the analysts said.
The stock dropped 110,000 Korean won, or 7%, to 1.465 million won Monday. The percentage decline of 7% was the biggest in four years. The stock has now plunged 13% since it closed at an all-time high of 1.687 won on Aug. 23.
Year-to date, Samsung shares have gained 16%, compared with the S&P 500's gain of 5.6%.

Funnily enough, there was a recall on some of their washing machines last year. Why? They exploded. I did not know, that makes this even more fun. Had a Samsung dishwasher once. Wouldn't clean the dishes. Nothing technically wrong (3 service calls) but it was just poorly engineered. Was quite the battle to get a refund!
