Think about it this way - if this were to happen to Apple, would you stop using iPhones? I wouldn't.

Think about it this way - if this were to happen to Apple, would you stop using iPhones? I wouldn't. REALLY?! I would and would get a refund. This is no joke - you can hurt yourself AND others around you. It's all over the news and if you have done nothing then at what point is it YOUR liability if you harm someone else? (I'm not a lawyer but at some point it must be your fault if you were amply warned - no?)

Of course I would turn in the defective device.

Think about it this way - if this were to happen to Apple, would you stop using iPhones? I wouldn't. I wouldn't change away from an iPhone, but Apple hasn't had the abysmal track record of a morally corrupt organization Samsung has. Maybe this will give some Samsung users more to think about.

I wouldn't change away from an iPhone, but Apple hasn't had the abysmal track record of a morally corrupt organization Samsung has. Maybe this will give some Samsung users more to think about. The unfortunate reality is: 1. Most people don't care enough about corporate ethics to have it influence their purchase decisions. 2. Most people actually believe Apple is morally worse than Samsung. They will cite patent trolling, worker exploitation/suicides, price gouging, tax evasion etc. Of course this is far from the truth but it's what is in the media and therefore what the average Joe believes.

Think about it this way - if this were to happen to Apple, would you stop using iPhones? I wouldn't. How many times will you accept be singled out and told you can't use your phone, for instance, on an airplane? How comfortable will you be sitting next to a person using a Samsung product on an airplane? Can you distinguish one that is 'fixed' versus one that is not? Frankly given the propensity of people to ignore rules when convenient, its yet another reason not to fly. How would I respond if this were an iPhone? I certainly wouldn't use it until I replaced it. I would be extremely unhappy to be without a phone. If the 'fixed' replacement were not immediately available -- I might 'downgrade' or may very well move to another vendor. Under no circumstance would that vendor be Samsung. I would also vehemently urge my loved ones to not use a defective product. Like me, they tend to be fiercely independent...

Amazon's High Price
Is Amazon stock high mainly because of its service business or because of its promise of being the Internet market place?
And who are the customers for its service business? It appears that Amazon is a bit like Microsoft in being a provider of software (and resources)

What just happened? AAPL dropped suddenly. On very heavy volume, several million shares traded hands. Some large fund divesting?

As seen in the past, one erratic drop like this is enough to kill this stock's momentum for a long time.

Just called a large trading firm - they aren't seeing anything other than at $113 it triggered a ton of stops that brought it down to $111.55 then settled out

Seems there was a report of week iPhone sales, I can't seem to find it in print. It apparently ran on CNBC. Not even sure where the report came from.

finance.yahoo.com/news/apple-sharply-down-research-firm-181631007.htmlApple was down over 2% at one point during trading on Friday, although it has made a comeback and is currently down around 1.5% on the day. The stock dropped sharply at about 1:30 PM ET. Apparently, a German research firm, GfK, issued a report based on "channel checks" suggesting that iPhone 7 sales would be down from last year based on data from Europe and Asia. People who have seen a copy of the report are saying that it claims that iPhone 7 unit sales are down 25% on an annual basis against last year's iPhone 6S model, although it does not measure sales in the United States. GfK claims iPhone 7 unit sales are down 25% YoY Vs 6S. $AAPL — Justin Pulitzer (@justinpulitzer) September 23, 2016

"The move lower in Apple has been attributed to bearish commentary from GfK regarding weak iPhone 7 sales. The firm indicated that launch weekend sales declined approximately 25.0% year-over-year. "

If sales are in fact down, this is obviously a supply issue and almost certainly accounted for by Apple in their guidance for this quarter. This means relatively strong 6s and SE sales are picking up the slack. It's also bullish for October guidance as it means more sales pushed towards FQ1.
