So much broken with the automobile UI. Apple needs to fix things. It reminds me of the Motorola ROKR project after all these years, but: Longest. Implementation. Ever.

AAPL analyst and Apple Inc. spokesperson are two of the easiest jobs on the planet. Analyst: "Buy, target $1XX" Spokesperson: "No comment"

My $.02 The street can't see the forest through the trees with Apple and more importantly AAPL. It's a CASH MACHINE and worth much more even with NO growth. BUT ... there is growth in some very important segments such as services (24%) and the retention rate for phones is through the roof. Regardless of how Samsung reacts there has been considerable damage to the "brand" and Apple will benefit from this. Bottom line is this stock was NOT priced as a growth stock ... so why should WS expect stellar growth Give us a 25-40 multiple and I'd agree that Apple is overvalued but we trade at such a low multiple it's embarrassing. While I think Tim is doing a great job ... remember when the iPhone came out there was NOTHING that could touch it ... competition is stiff now and Apple is still doing a great job selling huge amounts of iPhones AND keeping margins high which is no easy task. I do wish , however that Tim would defend the stock price a little more. I'm also a Tesla owner and love the way Elon fires back at the naysayers. Obviously Elon and Tim couldn't be more different in their presentations. Regardless .... the cash monster is growing and I'm convinced the U.S. , regardless of ruling party, will address overseas corporate tax issues and bring some of that money home. When they do ..... I want to own this name. Cheers to the longs

Awesome presentation but... no new MacBooks or MacBook Airs? So what was the presentation about other than what Artman pointed out? I didn't watch.

Sounds like the Macbook and Macbook Air line is done. It's iPad Pro then Macbook Pro. I don't have use for either. Guess I'll hold on to my Air until it dies.

If Twitter is any gauge on these Macs - although they're "nice" - the price bump erases any enthusiasm.

I don't believe the MacBook line is dead. It received a decent upgrade in the Spring (I bought one and I'm very happy with it) and during the presentation Phil showed it as completing the laptop lineup at the lower end.

So the iPhone headphones can't connect to the new Macs. The iPhone charging cable can't connect to the new Macs. Talk about confusing strategy...Apple is all over the place.
Disappointing event. Nothing really exciting and the new MBPs are expensive. No new iMacs or Mac Pro. Given the price hike and industry decline I don't think these are going to sell particularly well. Guidance makes a little more sense now.

Would love to hear from the Company a few words on their strategy in that respect because it does seem random at best.

So the iPhone headphones can't connect to the new Macs. If you're referring to the AirPods, yes, they can. I'm not familiar with what's included with the iPhone 7 models but if a USB-C to Lightning cable isn't already included you can get this one: www.apple.com/shop/product/MK0X2AM/A/usb-c-to-lightning-cable-1-mTo you. However, I think the traditional audience for the MBP line—i.e. prosumers and professionals—will be quite pleased, even excited. Did you watch the Adobe rep's presentation?

So the iPhone headphones can't connect to the new Macs... Earpods are designed for iPhone only. Frankly, I don't use them at all, they are still in the box.

If the Macbook and Air lines are done, they are ignoring a huge segment of the population. MacBook Air is done, awkward place anyway, overlap with MB and MBP. MacBook should still evolve, probably into 11" and 12", may be ARM-based, expect next year's Spring.

Airpods aren't even available for purchase yet, and they're $160. It's not compatible with what's in the box. Just doesn't make sense to me that two major products launched around the same don't play nice with each other in terms of cabling. I realize you don't really need to connect the iPhone to a computer anymore, but a lot of people still go for charging and some file management.

Somehow missed this at the start of the event. AppleTV is now the iHome hub we have predicted for a decade. Just a stealthy software add. CALLED IT. Of course, Al Gore will not be happy with this marketing copy. He should have insisted the thermostat was either 62 (winter) or 78 (summer) to save the planet! (ducks...)

Really really hating dongles. Some enterprising third party will hopefully create an F-shaped stick that has two USB-C plugs on the MacBook side and [whatever] out the back. Agree with previous comment about disconnected strategy re: USB-C vs MagSafe vs Lightning vs AirPods vs iPhone. But this is nothing new. It just seems to be getting worse in recent years. "Steve would never have approved this."
And no Uncle Phil, we did NOT miss your lame attempt to pass off a third-party monitor as an Apple-related product. "Worked really close with..." my ass.
