Beautiful video ! ! Is this the problem with Apple now? Should we get out of Apple stock? Jobs is so clear in this video. PS I do think the new laptops are a solid step forward. Not sure about the keyboard.

I'd like to see AAPL get down to about 5B shares and then buy back only to maintain that level. The rest of the cash should be accumulated for dividends and large acquisitions. Also to pay down debt - I don't think they should be taking on any more at this point.
Does anyone here think the stock would be at $113 if Apple were paying a quarterly $1.25 dividend? It's well within their capabilities.

I've been wondering if the ultimate perfectionist Jony Ives has become a constriction point at Apple. I love his design sense, but there is really not enough new stuff emerging from Apple, and especially with the Mac. For a few years, the Mac became THE platform of creatives, with a lot of other people wanting to emulate the cool people by buying a Mac. Now there is so little innovation in the Mac that it's hurting the brand. I mean, who would have guessed that Microsoft could out-innovate Apple?

Not sure about the keyboard. Great video, but I don't think it is relevant to the question of the performance of Apple stock. There is little correlation between the stock price and the company's performance. Owning Apple stock is essentially gambling except you get paid a little for being at the table. It is easy to make the mistake of equating the size of the company with market share. If Apple had a monopoly like IBM, Xerox, or even Microsoft( think of the Balmer years), you might see this pattern, but Apple does not have the dominant market share in any of it's products. If and when Samsung comes up with something useful Apple will have to respond. This threat keeps the product guys involved at the highest level. I think Steve casts a long shadow that will preserve the company culture for years to come. In the meantime, I intend to hold the stock and sell options to the gamblers.

Interesting article. Fisker will challenge Tesla with its own high-end electric car Hmm. Wouldn't this make a thousand times more sense for Apple than starting from scratch? I think those Fisker Karma's were beautiful, so much more so than the Plain Jane Teslas. I also think hybrid tech (Think McLaren P1 or Porsche 918, not Prius) is much more sensible with 300+ petro-years of fossil fuels at our disposal, if we can just reign in the climate religion zealots.
