From the article: "The reality is that Spectacles aren’t going to be big business for Snap, at least not anytime soon. The company wouldn’t sell them out of vending machines if it was trying to make money here. But Spectacles are giving Snap a new wave of momentum just before it plans to IPO — and the idea that it could sell a lot of glasses has been planted in everyone’s mind. And that feeling isn’t ephemeral." Why do I have the feeling that if Apple did something equivalent they would be excoriated in this forum? Now why would you say that, chinacat? Do you not find them to be a well designed, innovative piece of technology?

With regards to the Sonos, yes I purchased the "Connect Amp" which is a small unit that can access many music servers, I use Apple music but you could also use Pandora, Spotify or a host of others. It is hardwired to speakers mounted in the ceiling and is great for ambient music. I could have used a 2nd zone in my home theater receiver to accomplish the same thing but it would have been more hardware to integrate…If I used my receiver I'd have to turn it on, select the zone I have a Denon receiver and it, like almost all other receivers you can buy today, has built-in AirPlay support. There's no need to turn it on—just select it as the AirPlay target (from any macOS or iOS device) and go. The receiver turns on automatically and plays your music. Like you, I have been using Apple TV since it was first released in 2007. The current version is excellent. In fact, it has become the sole TV source for us. …and that acquisition seems to be paying off handsomely: seekingalpha.com/article/4026042-assessing-impact-apple-music

Lucky choices Your post made me laugh.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
EDIT I really hadn't paid attention to the Snap Specticles so I did a search.
At Business Insider Avery Hartmans had this to say;
Wow indeed, well designed & stylish are not adjectives I personally would use, LOL. She has very low expectations if "they were everything" she hoped for. To her credit the last sentence says it all, and for only $130 from a vending machine.

Apple specializes in hardware design and UI. That's been their major competitive advantage for a long, long time. Operatijg systems are another but that ties into UI along with hardware. Now at least we're getting somewhere. Billions have been spent chasing Apple since their inception. To this day no one, NO ONE, has yet to do those things better than Apple. They make all the money in phones while making the very best phone. They make most of the money in computers while making the very best computers. They own the worlds largest music distribution company. They are second to Rolex, ROLEX, in worldwide sales of watches. Oh...,you're right...,they suck. All of what you said is true, yet their earnings have been in rather steep decline this year. What does that tell you? When taking most of the profits in a growing market results in less profit, it means that smartphone commoditization is taking place right before our eyes and Apple is strongly affected by it. The difference between best (Apple) and good enough is no longer very much. The difference in price between the two can be as much as $400. I know when I shop I don't usually look for the very best in quality, but the best value for my budget. That remains the iPhone for me, but for a lot of others an opportunity to save hundreds of dollars is too good to pass up. And for even more people, they hang onto their iPhones for 3,4 years before replacing. This is a testament to Apple's product quality but it's not good for sales. People need to stop being so emotional about this company. There is certainly upside and the chance of something new and amazing, but the risks are also very real. Look no further than China - a rapidly growing market with a rapidly shrinking profit for Apple.

I know I'm not going to be alone in saying that monster Christmas commercial is hands down the worst Apple commercial I've ever seen.
