The touch bar is nice. But it is a bit of glitter, NOT a game changer. All the function is still also on the screen, and the Touch Bar requires additional memory overload to know what is on the touch bar at any given moment. Possibly a distraction for some. It's less of a game changer than 3D Touch, and that didn't seem to boost iPhone sales. The MBP is selling well right now not because of the touch bar, but because it's been so damn long that the lineup was refreshed.

At this point I'm just waiting for the ability for Apple to bring home some cash .... maybe it will help the share price or at the very least allow them to up the dividend significantly. Other than that, I see little reason to be in this stock. It's a shame. Great company but the disconnect with share price is even greater and Apple's management is not interested in defending the nonsense. I'm pretty disheartened at this point , then again I've been in since 2003 and done very very well .... nothing last forever and maybe it's time to move assets into other areas.
BTW, I did liquidate my IRA about 3 weeks ago and took all the AAPL money and moved it into TSLA ... looks like I made the right choice. One of the only things that stopped me from doing the same in our main trading account was the tax implications.
Cheers to the longs ....

Some 27-inch iMacs shipped between Dec. 2012 and July 2014 may stop adjusting properly and simply tilt forward, according to a service document seen by MacRumors. People who paid to get their hinge fixed may have ended up spending $100 or more. According to various online complaints, the affected hinges can make a cracking or popping sound when they break. That would support a theory that plastic washers in spring mechanisms are suddenly giving way, unable to cope with the weight of the attached computer. A connected repair program covering 2012- and 2013-model iMacs has been extended to five years from the original date of purchase, up from three. People with a faulty iMac should be able to get their hinge replaced at no cost, even if they're outside of their warranty period. While Apple hasn't made any of these details public, first-party stores and authorized service providers have allegedly been informed. People should contact Apple itself if they need a refund, or any authorized location if they want a repair. appleinsider.com/articles/16/11/29/apple-to-refund-imac-hinge-repairs-as-belgium-norway-get-carrier-billing-for-itunes

"Chrys Bader was previously ... a product manager at Google" "Yet, they’re still making FU playbook moves, like removing the headphone jack",,,yup, no one is buying the iPhone7 for that reason "Android is also dominating global market share"...no mention of profit share "Apple Watch, the first product launch without Steve, was also the first not to move the needle."...other than instantly becoming the best selling smartwatch in the world "Apple has always been the leader in new technology platforms, from iPod to iPhone to iPad, but are nowhere to be found in AR, VR or self-driving vehicles beyond rumors"...just like they were nowhere in smartphones until the iPhone appeared "Tim Cook is an operator CEO and is doing a great job increasing profit margins and company efficiency, but has yet to show any prescience or urgency to be a leader in innovation."...so Steve Jobs was infallible except in this one case Thanks for posting this, Since84. I am much more optimistic now that I know Apple's competitors still have no idea how they got where they are. And yes, I know that there are many here who agree with the author much more than with me.

And your comments are much better than I would have posted. Whenever I read such a negative article, I search the author's name and "Apple" to see if they've written similar hit pieces on the company. When I came across the link between Chrys Bader and Google, it put the article into perspective. Thanks for posting this, Since84. I am much more optimistic now that I know Apple's competitors still have no idea how they got where they are. And yes, I know that there are many here who agree with the author much more than with me. We still have our IRAs on auto-reinvest and are happy to continue picking up more shares before the stock goes higher. And we obviously believe it will go higher. There are no longer as many of us that agree with you as there used to be on this board...but I hope and believe there are still more than just a few of us.
