Since84, thank you for the link to the NYT's article "How China Built ‘iPhone City’ With Billions in Perks for Apple’s Partner". I was unaware of the U-turn policy employed early on by the Chinese government.

For all the pissing and moaning we endure on this board, Apple is outperforming the FANG stocks on the one day, one week, one month, 3 month, 6 month and 1 year intervals. All that AND a dividend. Not bad for the most financially secure company out there.

Since84, I want to thank you for the stalwart, high quality job that you have done opening the daily thread. Given the quality and number of the articles that you recommend, I am forced to conclude that you either never sleep or are in fact posting from London. I am sure that I am not alone in my admiration of and appreciation for your very valuable contributions.

As to posting early... it's the result of too many years of getting up before the sun.

There was a time I thought I would diversify out of Apple for retirement. I'm more and more inclined to let it ride.

How did you calculate that 10%? I keep track of rolling 4-quarter earnings and the recent numbers (from Q1 '15) are: $7.42 8.09 8.66 9.20 9.42 8.99 8.56 8.29 8.51 How do we calculate 10% growth from the numbers?

I'd guess he's referring to the dividend growing at 10% annually.

Not bad for the most financially secure company out there. AMZN and FB have done better on the 1y and NFLX on the 6m. Or do you mean the FANG stocks as a group? You're right that the recent strength in AAPL has made it a decent year overall. I'm hoping to see the $120s and $130s in the next few months.

If it can clear $122, you'll get a retest of the highs. Personally, I don't think it happens yet. No fundamentals to push to an ATH right now.

I agree with this. There is no clear reason why AAPL should test new highs.
I will say this though. The iPhone 7 is a solid product, and so is the new MacBook Pro. These are strong cards.
