We have each said it at different times and I know I've said it a number of times - but again, - thank you Since84 for not only opening the thread each morning but doing so in a timely basis and insightfully. 2017 is going to be a big year for Apple particularly with the next iPhone ... I expect AFB will be lots more active. Good luck, health and happiness to all ~ enjoy your New Year celebrations and stay safe out there. All the best, Phoebes!

That's how the selling starts. In a few days we may here from some other WS firm about their sources confirming and decreasing their estimates I did start buying puts two days ago. Plan to get out around 110 or lower:) Should note that I bought simply because of high RSI and the gap fill from Oct. in the past we correct about 8%. We shall see.

I don't understand why this is a surprise to anyone. Shouldn't there always be a production cut after the holiday quarter? Am I missing something?

In Dec of 2015 the same report came out and everyone cried that supply news is not accurate. The stock went from 118 to 93 in two months after it was confirmed in Jan. Not saying we will do the same but lesson is not to dismiss these stories. Apple will be fine. We have to look at 3-5 year windows from now on.

This year we have the new watch 2, the new airpods, the new macbook pro, increased service revenue, the likelihood of repatriated funds, a larger increase in dividends, a greater possibility of a large acquisition and whatever I missed or don't know. So if you are wrong like how you called the election for hillary, many shareholders will be happy.

Yeh, but last year they said orders were going to be cut by 30% (not 10% as claimed in this "report!")

There's really not a good explanation of what is meant by cut. Did Apple actually cut previously placed orders or did Apple place orders for the next production runs reduced by 10% over the previously run product? How large were the orders? If Apple placed orders for 70 - 80 million phones for the last run a 10% drop wouldn't be as bad as if Apple had placed orders for 60 - 70 million phones for the previous production run. What suppliers? Apple has numerous suppliers and any reduction in orders may not be equal across suppliers of the same parts. Too many questions left unanswered.

We over analyze it. There was a cut and the stock will react.
My view was that guidance was light and that is why we dropped 11%.
We will have to wait for Jan EA to see how much things are slowing down.
The new products will help, but iPhone is still the most important metric to measure earnings by.
