TSLA up 35% since I bought just a couple of months ago. Investing can be so easy... They report on Feb 8. Are you going to hold through earnings? I'm curious to see if last quarters numbers were pulled forward from this quarter.

I've closed out half my position and will buy back in later. Will withdraw a small portion of my profits and enjoy life. I'm a big believer now in taking profits and waiting for the next opportunity. I know it's not easy to time the market and there will be times when I miss out by not simply buying and holding, but I think I can come out ahead overall with reduced stress levels to boot. Keep in mind that in Canada there is no tax difference between short and long term investing, so I have an advantage in that respect compared to most of you.

The $120 call wall is impossible to break through.

I'm curious to see if last quarters numbers were pulled forward from this quarter. I'm also holding a bunch of TSLA that I got into about 2 months ago and I'm thinking about cashing out before earnings .... I've done very well the last year buying TSLA when it would go down below 180 and selling around 240-260 ..... Long term I'm a big believer in the company but the stock could be more volatile than I would like .... most of my holdings are in my Roth IRA so no tax consequences ..... tough call ..... greed is a pretty powerful emotion .....

The face of my Apple watch completely detached and popped off. I went to the Apple store and they said, "Oh yeah that happens a lot - it's because it's glued." My response, "I don't care - either you aren't using the right glue or the design is defective given that I hardly ever wear it and you're telling me that it happens A LOT?!" Then they told me I had to wait 2 hours for an appointment JUST TO LEAVE IT TO BE REPAIRED because I was "a walk-in"....and so I walked out. I came home and made an appt. .... and now I have to wait 6 days for an appt. I'm not feeling the love from Apple these days ... I know it's anecdotal but it's also infuriating.

I put all my eggs in one basket 16-17 years ago. In the last 6-7 years, I have divested some of that basket into real estate investments. Namely, both single family homes on either side of my primary residence, two condominiums and a townhouse in a retirement community. Plus I still have a substantial holding in our favorite fruit company . . .

...I'm not feeling the love from Apple these days ... I know it's anecdotal but it's also infuriating. Same here. Apple sent an email informing that my son's iPhone 6S battery needs to be replaced because of some defect (hope you can recall about this problem) and told us to make an appointment to go to an AppleStore. At Apple Store, a genius (can't remember the new name) examined the iPhone, confirmed battery needed to be replaced and told us that Apple would inform us when a new battery is available. Once Apple said is available, made an appointment, went there and had to wait 2 hours for it to be replaced. I was expecting that there is a battery available for the iPhone before they called us to go the first time.

Just a reminder that similar charts said the same thing in Oct when we were at 118 before earnings. When guidance was less then stellar despite reports of solid sales from TMobile and an extra week, we got a quick 12% drop. Apple gives us solid guidance that indicates momentum not only with iPhone but other products into the rest of the FY, then we will see new ATH. If we don't then we could be treading water until he next confirmed catalyst.

It feels like everyone placed there bets on the 11th and now we are just waiting for earnings. I Expect some profit taking that could drive us back to 115 but WTFDIK

I freely admit to love hearing how investing long term in AAPL has helped folks so much financially over the years. The one-basket-approach isn't for everyone but it sure made investing for retirement very simple for us. Thanks for sharing your story!
