So for the benefit of all those who bought calls @ $120 or less, spread the word to everyone you know to place a buy order for AAPL @ $123 with just 5 seconds left at market closing.

Just saw this. Google Sold 1M Pixel Phones Last Quarter: Bloomberg (GOOG, AAPL) www.investopedia.com/news/google-sold-1m-pixel-phones-last-quarter-bloomberg-goog-aapl/?partner=YahooSA&yptr=yahooQuote from the article The Bloomberg report attributes increased sales during the holiday quarter to the company's ad spending, which shot up to $109.8 million for 12 Pixel ads last year from $45.9 million for two TV ads in 2015. Any mathmeticians care to calculate how much Google paid in advertising per Pixel sold? Yes they sold more than 1 million total during the advertising time frame but still seems like a lot.

Wow.
Having trouble keeping up with all of the posts today lately. Any thoughts on how we can increase participation on the board?

I'm sure all of us are absolutely shocked at the closing price today.

Let's not get carried away. The article said, "The report quotes varying estimates for the phone's sales from analysts and industry insiders, ranging from a top-end number of 1 million units down to 552,000 units." So it's a guess and the guesses range from 0.5 to 1 million.

By the way - I think between earnings reports and then building up to iPhone 8 and maybe some new product in between - this Board will begin to buzz again. It's like the NFL ratings - too much politics on and no one was paying attention to football. Once the election was done we're all watching football again. There are definitely catalysts coming up over the next several months to get the stock going and this board buzzing again...imho.

So it's a guess and the guesses range from 0.5 to 1 million. Why not get carried way, way carried away. Say they have sold 1.5 million phones. That means they spent at least $109 million to sell 1.5 million phones. $109 million / 1.5 million phones = $72.67 / phone. Using $649 / phone then 11.2% of the cost of the phone is for advertising. (Not including advertising spent in 2017 - I believe I have seen Pixel ads this year) If only 1 million phones sold it increases to 16.8% of the cost of the phone. At 552000 it gets really brutal. And this doesn't include the BOGO deals.

Besides, the number isn't even that outrageous considering it's a brand new product and they're obviously wise to be pushing it hard.

But it's not like Apple products are never supply constrained and I don't recall any of the tech writers cutting any slack for the Apple Watch when it was released because "it's a brand new product". The Pixel may, in fact, have sold many more than 1.5 million phones and may turn out to be a very successful product for Google. But I would hope not.
