Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the brilliant logic of the most powerful man on the planet:
"There is nothing nice about searching for terrorists before they can enter our country. This was a big part of my campaign. Study the world!"
"If the ban were announced with a one week notice, the "bad" would rush into our country during that week. A lot of bad "dudes" out there!"
Since it was such a big part of his campaign, don't you think these "bad dudes" would have "rushed in" between November 8 and January 20? What a tool. What amazes me the most is how half the country is unable to see the sheer stupidity of the man when it's painfully obvious every time he opens his mouth (or posts a tweet).

Can anybody tell me what's with all the RED INK on the board today? AAPL is holding it's own relatively well but...
is it the anti-anti-muslum protest thing at the airport?
WTF
Is it really THAT big a deal?
Any excuse to start a panic I guess.
Anybody wanna fine tune it for me?
Thx in advance.

Could it be that Trump's ill-considered EOs are making the world nervous? That President Bannon is a pure, hate-filled nut job? Markets hate uncertainty. Trump = worst statesman ever. Figure it out, respectfully...

Then it went up another 10% since. A 1-2% correction every now and then certainly isn't unwarranted. Trump's antics certainly don't help - it's a sign of how impulsive and volatile he is. We now know it wasn't just election talk (LOL to the fools who thought his antics were just in order to get elected) so along with the tax breaks that may come we also get global unrest as a result of his policies. He can do anything at any time and markets don't like that threat, obviously.

Confusion of policy implementation and poor communication over a weekend, much of corporate America - in particular tech companies -not liking this immigration policy for a plethora of reasons, and the worst of all is the uncertainty it all brings the market. My guess is that if he were to refocus efforts on tax reform and other national employment issues the market would turn ... but there was just a bit much over the weekend and markets are digesting it. That's my two cents. And of course - that I have terrible luck and it manages to come on the week that AAPL reports. Is it all about ME you ask? But of course!

"AAPL" and "run". Nice. It's been a while since those two words came in one sentence.

Back to business - what AMAZES me is that Twitter cannot capitalize on any of this crap! What are they doing over there???!!! Founder has one good idea but can't follow through. They should sell the business and return money to investors Michael? Michael Dell...is that you? Flashback: Remember When Michael Dell Said Apple Should Shut Down And Return Money To Shareholders? When Steve Jobs returned to Apple in 1997, Michael Dell famously trashed the company with a killer quote.
When asked what he'd do with Apple if he were in Jobs' shoes, Dell said:
What would I do? I'd shut it down and give the money back to the shareholders.
Ouch!
Jobs had his own say in the matter, reportedly telling Apple employees at the time, "F--- Michael Dell."
Today, Dell (the company) was forced to go private, taking a $2 billion loan from Microsoft and investments from Silver Lake and Michael Dell.
Well, there's some vindication for Apple.

Please keep the strongly opinionated politics outside this board. Gladly. I hesitated before writing that post, but then did it anyway. Still, hledgard, didn't you in fact post very opinionated positivite comments on Trump not that long ago?

Which one?
I do not think it was "very" opinionated. Obviously the situation at the moment does affect AAPL. But this board should keep it cool.

Which one? I do not think it was "very" opinionated. Obviously the situation at the moment does affect AAPL. But this board should keep it cool. I guess I was thinking of this: Dec 17, 2016 at 7:19pm hledgard said: I am heartened by Trump’s picks. He has not gone off the deep end. I think he will surprise us all. There is a real chance for a real change.
The selection of Pence for VP gave a clue that things might not be so wild.
PS Still impressed by the new MacBook Pro. The keyboard is such a plus, and the touch bar is a lovely idea. Solid addition to Apple's portfolio.
So, if this is "keeping it cool," then I disagree. Either we allow political talk on the daily board or we don't. My own strident views aside, I'd prefer that we keep this AAPL only (cause I'm a delicate snowflake and this is one of my safe places 😉). Good luck to us all tomorrow around 1:30!
