Not sure what just happened but the stock just took a nose dive in PM. The only info I can find is that there is some rumor circulating that iPhone 8 will have delays to Oct. or Nov. - clearly someone is short out there and since the SEC doesn't investigate shit - they feel emboldened to spread whatever rumor they want to benefit their book. It's all BS

It's all BS Thank you for the heads up. Yes, the PM weakness was a reaction to DigiTimes (!) reporting on this in a Chinese paper: "Technical issues related to the lamination process of curved OLED panels, and the adoption of a 3D sensing system may cause the delay of the new iPhone devices". (my emphasis) Rightly shrugged off by the market.

FYI - earnings are late because the fiscal quarter ended a week later than usual. Gap between quarter end and earnings hasn't really changed. I wouldn't read anything into it.

Can't wait to see if they get their maximum performance-based stock bonuses in October (and in August for Tim). A lot depends on what AAPL does between now and then, and that will depend a lot on what they announce regarding dividends next month, IMO.

It'll be very interesting to see what happens with the dividend. Buybacks will be far less effective at these levels. Something more than the standard 8-10% bump would be welcome and would help support the stock on the downside. However, I don't expect this until the $200B cash is back on home soil, hopefully next year.
I would prefer they raise the dividend and keep more cash on the books, ready to buy back in chunks opportunistically when the stock gets sold off.

To those of you with larger brains than mine - why wouldn't AAPL buy NVDA? Should they? There are folks here that know a lot about this subject and have insightful opinions. Kindly share your thoughts. TIA

Kindly share your thoughts. TIA Frankly I don't think Apple needs any help in this area. They probably have all the people they needs for their future GPU plans.

Looks like the Fed killed the party. I was looking forward to that $145 close. Oh well...

Wish we could trade on earnings and charts instead of what politicians say and don't do. They are the last people I want to have my finances tied to in any way...ugh.

Kindly share your thoughts. TIA Apple now does CPU design in-house (licensing ARM's tech), which has given it a huge performance and secrecy advantage. Nvidia is a fabless company, so what would Apple get other than IP, which is cheaper to license than buy? A $58B market cap for a company that hasn't done shinola in mobile, plus Nvidia's IP value is suspect as Dilger's article lays out. And AAPL didn't dump, the whole market did. The Dow was up almost 200 today, before closing at -41.
