I'll give it a try starting the thread, bare with me as I am not up to Since84's standards. OK, Rick, I'm naked. Now what?

It's been a great ride for the bulls. If you are a long term investor - no worries. If you are holding short term calls or trading. This time might be a bit different. Lots of sovereign and political issues that create uncertainty in the market.

Looks like my 146 and 147 calls and the 129 puts I sold won't be in the money by Friday. Pocket the premium, rinse, repeat.
I assume today's price action is in response to Qualcomm's counter suit.

The profit taking I have been waiting for has finally started. We broke the 20MA. Let's see if we reach the 50MA by next week. Will jump back in then. If we hit 136, we should bounce off and still get over 140 by OE. If we don't and stay in the high 130s then we may see a selloff after earnings. I am still looking at strong numbers and solid guidance.

Tax reform is a long way away. Trump can't get anything done. Apple is doing well, but don't bank on repatriation happening for a while.

I guess the investors expect Tesla to sell one hell of a lot of cars, batteries and solar panels.

Just for reference...
Tesla sold 60,000 cars in 2016.
GM sold around 3,000,000 cars in the US for each of the last three years.
This was just a bit of quick and dirty internet browsing. I have no idea whether or not the GM number included trucks, for example, but it is US only.
Now, don't get me wrong. I hope that Tesla is wildly successful, for the sake of the planet, as well as of the human race, by extension. But 50 to 1 is an amazing gap, and there will eventually be competition. In addition, the support infrastructure has to scale alongside the sales, coast to coast. There will certainly be investors in all aspects (sales, maintenance, "fueling") but it sure seems like a big bet with an uncertain payoff timeframe.
Wow
