That is my general feeling. Not sure everyone is going for the X Wow, where I am (Toronto, Canada) I know many going for the X. One friend messaged me last night to say he went in for the iPhone 8, ended up getting the X after seeing the screen quality.

Supply/demand balance is improving a lot faster than almost anyone expected. I have mixed feelings about this. This quarter should be a blowout, but FQ2 guidance might be lighter than expected. It will certainly beat the year ago compare, but not sure if it will beat FQ2 2015, as supply/demand imbalance carried through well into the quarter. Of course, ASPs are higher now so it’s hard to say for sure.
I was expecting 2018 iPhone sales to smash 2015 but now I’m not so sure.

It took me seeing it to be so impressed. From Barron's "Note, however, the survey was done before the iPhone X was in store for people to fondle:" www.barrons.com/articles/apples-iphone-prospects-slightly-dimmer-in-ubs-survey-1511794576

That is my general feeling. Not sure everyone is going for the X I am CERTAIN that not everyone is going for the X, but even 50% would guarantee a blowout holiday quarter IMHO.

That is my general feeling. Not sure everyone is going for the X I got the X yesterday. Love it. More comments later in the week after using it for a few days - yesterday was mostly setup and restoring into it from a 3 year old 6. But quickly: - Incredibly fast and smooth - Display is incredibly like “painted on” the glass. - FaceID is excellent. I don’t think I’ll miss the home button. The swipe up from the bottom feels fine.

About iPhone X sales: There are places like mixpanel that track the number of active devices, and they should give a good indication of the relative number of iphone 8 and iphone X that have been sold to date. From their data it seems that iPhone X has sold as many units, to date, as iPhone 8 plus, at about 3% of detected installed base, for a combined number of new phones sold of something more than 8% of detected installed base. But the most important data point from what mixpanel shows is the steepness of the growth rate for iPhone X, which is about twice that of a single model of iphone 8, and I think simply points to the rate at which iphone X has been produced since november. That may still be accelerating, too. Linear extrapolation of those trends would mean that there will be more units of iPhone X sold by next year than iPhone 8 and 8 plus combined... See here.

I unchecked "Older" which changed the scale and then iPhone 8 trend line became apparent. Unchecking 7 and 7s shows even better: I think as shoppers get to see an iPhone X in person, their consideration to buy will shoot up, accepting the higher price for the value they can now see. It’s a great looking and feeling phone. A very interesting chart on iPhone X sales trend. Too early to tell much, but it should be interesting to watch this over the coming weeks. Lullii, thanks for sharing. mixpanel.com/trends/#report/iphone_8_X/from_date:-70,report_unit:day,to_date:0

Cool info, by why on earth wouldn't they cache the main graphs that they have. I'm trying to pull up the iOS vs Android graph that they link. It says it's making the graph from nearly 6 Trillion data points, over the past 4.5 years. It's been a few minutes now....and it's still chugging away: mixpanel.com/trends/#report/android_vs_ios(it's taking so long that I'm surprised it's not just a marketing trick while playing ads to me. I think their database is getting hammered)
