I won't bother to link to "Who is Steve Jobs, Apple's Mythical Co-Founder?" since it is nothing more than a straight recital of the various milestones in Steve's life. But the headline is a great example of what makes me want to scream about most of the pundits, whether in the tech, political or other areas of expertise, namely their extremely poor grasp of junior high school English grammar rules and vocabulary. Steve is/was not "mythical;" "legendary" is likely what the author was going for.
Sorry for the digression, but I usually despair after about 10 minutes of listening to people on TV who get paid to speak English for a living.

This reminds of election night futures when everyone thought Trump winning was bad. We know a few days later how that turned out. We have moved up too much as of late. Apple unfortunately has not joined the rally but only the sell offs. We will be OK.
Anyone with cash should be ready to buy more if we drop further.

I usually despair after about 10 minutes of listening to people on TV who get paid to speak English for a living. My favorite is the various mispronunciations of the word " for". Five percent of the time, TV personalities will get it right, but that's after the majority butcher the poor little word . . .

I would argue that it may be a mistake. trying to time this will burn you but I would argue with no tax penalty its not wrong. you are clearly selling after a good long run. I suspect that it will play out over a month or less and will culminate with Trumps resignation. He almost certainly is going to be exposed to felony charges even if it was because he is just an idiot ( I didn't know this type of thing was illegal) I think he hates this job anyway. The republicans will get their tax cut into conference committee in next few days as well. The market will turn around and when do you get back in?
If apple drops more than 10 bucks in next few weeks then this is a buy point in my opinion. They are going to blow out the next quarter and China is coming back on line.

This reminds of election night futures when everyone thought Trump winning was bad. We know a few days later how that turned out. I don't really even want to know what you're *attempting* to indicate with these two sentences but suggest you be more careful with the use of "everyone" and "we". Clearly "everyone" didn't think it was bad because he won the electoral college vote. And to add, "We know a few days later how that turned out" is judging *very* prematurely about "how that turned out".

Trump is providing volatility to the market in ways no other president has in the past. We will go up and down in the next 7 years. Apple will be just fine as it has over many other presidents.

Here’s a hint, Flynn is going to have some damning testimony to share. I have read both sides of this this morning. "Trump allegedly directed him to reach out to Russia. If it was contact for election collusion, that’s dire. I also think that’s highly unlikely. If it was contact to set the stage for post-election relations and cooperation, that’s far less problematic — unless members of the Trump administration (or Trump family) have been lying to the FBI about those contacts. So, we could be looking at less of a criminal conspiracy and more of a festival of lies surrounding a non-conspiracy. That’s at least consistent with the guilty pleas (Flynn and Papadopoulos) so far. Stay tuned." Read more at: www.nationalreview.com/corner/454264/michael-flynn-charge-monstrous-injustice-or-prelude-bigger-thingsWhite house reaction.

More reporting re Katy's note: money.usnews.com/investing/stock-market-news/articles/2017-12-01/apple-inc-aapl-stock-iphoneHuberty says Apple's impressive China growth will soon start to accelerate further as the Chinese user base begins generating more Apple Services revenue as well.
"If we are correct, then we believe China could grow over 70 percent and account for 25 percent of Apple revenue in fiscal 2018, similar to the last iPhone supercycle in fiscal 2015," Huberty says.Chinese New Year and Spring Golden Week Feb 16. PS: I'm doing my part, ordered 2 iPhone X 256 via Comcast Xfinity Mobile. I'm not porting my number until I try their hybrid service (prioritized calls-over-WiFi Hotspot with Verizon towers as second priority service). A pair of Beats Solo 3, as a gift. Maybe two Apple Watches GSM/cellular.

Options open interest in January upped it's game in the past 2 days with the drop. I saw daily volume of 50 or 60k on the Jan 170's, and sure enough it looks like most of that added to OI.
I think Jan 170 puts increased too. 168.5k on the calls, nearly 107k on the Puts.
Things may be dicey for a while, upping volatility, but as far as AAPL some people have been profiting off of AAPL being at 170 at some key times, and that looks to continue.
What would be interesting is to see how other big companies or indexes are doing, as far as being pulled towards a pin.
Big news causes excitement, allowing stocks to be drawn to where they want to go. But if it's just news, and not things that specifically pertain to Apple or the whole market, things will be fine.
That said, and expecting AAPL to be drawn to 170 a few times between now and Jan expirations, I was really holding out for a quick ride up close to 185. Maybe on a positive tax vote? But there's a lot going on, and that quick ride might just not be in the cards in the short term anymore.
Go AAPL....even with some bumps in the road for it, the market, and all.

Just sold off my entire 401k. This is going to be a drawn out blood bath IMO. Would you care to elaborate? What spooked you? I’m up 41% since October 1, 2016. The market is ripe for a correction, and this seems like a good reason. I’m worried that this process, which seems like it’s headed toward impeachment, will be very drawn out. That’s the last thing anyone should want. The market hates uncertainty, and will react accordingly. Now, I may be entirely wrong. Maybe nothing can get in the way of this bull market. But I’m not willing to risk it. I’m happy to sit on the sidelines until the picture becomes a little more clear.

This thing with Flynn happened after the election. The leftist msm had a field day and their audience were obsessed with their blogs. “The false-statement charge, brought under Section 1001 of the federal penal code, stems from Flynn’s conversation on December 29, 2016, with Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak. At the time, Flynn was slated to become the national-security adviser to President-elect Donald Trump. The conversation occurred on the same day that then-president Barack Obama announced sanctions against Russia for its interference in the 2016 election. He’s being charged with lying. That’s because that’s the deal he made - not because that’s all that he did. Why did he get that easy deal? Because he has some serious dirt on Trump and his cronies.
Nobody cares about the “case against Flynn”. It’s the downstream implications.

A treasonous attempt at a bloodless coup to void the landslide election of the President. To leftist MSM and the Obama era deep state it’s personal, we have seen this snowball for over a year. They are self destructing, ratings are down but their audience still lingers. Good luck

Hilarious wishful thinking here. Trump having his staff talk to foreign countries about fighting terror *after the election* isn’t a crime.
Flynn didn’t learn the Scooter Libby Rule: Never talk to federal agents without counsel present. Or at all. But they got nothing on Trump. As if “collusion” is even a crime anyway.
Tax reform passed the Senate. Looks like we are getting our money back from overseas. Good time to be a shareholder.

Hilarious ... they got nothing on Trump. As if “collusion” is even a crime anyway. ... “Did Trump team plan to reward Russians for election meddling? 5:31 PM EST December 1, 2017 CNN What Mueller may really be looking for here is proof of a "quid pro quo" promise to ease up on sanctions to reward the Russians for assisting the Trump campaign in trashing Hillary Clinton during the presidential election. If Flynn could provide evidence of such an election-tampering deal made with knowledge of the President, impeachment proceedings would be inevitable.”

On Friday, Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to FBI agents about making contact with Russian Ambassador Kislyak during the transition period. In a stunning twist, the Trump White House revealed to CNN that the calls were approved by the Obama administration. LOL

If you believe that to be true, you must wonder why he would lie about it.Despite the Fact that James Comey & the FBI concluded MikeFlynn had not deliberately lied, Mueller reportedly wore Flynn down with threats. Flynn now faces $1 Million in Legal Bills. When a Decorated 3-Star General is treated like this, there is something wrong with our System.
